Normally I wouldn't feel compelled to make the comment "Look at that tackle!" after the Eagles coughed up a fumble near the goal-line but I could not have been more pleased with how Michael Vick violently pulled Ray Lewis to the ground after he tried to run (despite the fact that he was down according to King Dunlap's foot).
I can only wonder what Ray Lewis thought. He's usually making the tackles, not being tackled.
Vick clearly has some incredible arm strength because I imagine what he did was not an easy thing to do.
And it wasn't like either player (Vick or Lewis) was going to get hurt. Lewis wasn't creamed - and Vick didn't do anything dangerous - BUT - he did demonstrate that he is a fighter.
I was kind of surprised the television didn't show the tackle in slow motion instant replay - but they were focused on whether or not Lewis was supposed to be running with the ball (which was a bigger issue at the time). I actually had to put my DVR to good use to re-watch the play from the live feed. My son and I kept re-playing the event over and over and laughing....
Later that night, when the NFL Network was going through the games of the day - the ex-player commentators (Neon Dion, and Michael Irvin) BOTH got a good chuckle over Vick's tackle I imagine its the kind of thing the other Eagles will enjoy watching on film today.
it almost made the turn-over worth it.
