Baltimore and Philadelphia are natural born enemies

Remember the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL? They became the Baltimore Stars.

Remember the Cleveland Browns? They became the Baltimore "Ravens." Too embarrassed to fight to keep the same name, they decided to use a bird name. Strong, fierce bird names like Eagles or Falcons were already taken, so they settled on the name of a bird that mocked some guy who lost the girl in an Edgar Allen Poe poem. Ravens are loud and obnoxious tricksters, while eagles are a sacred birds in many lands, including this one.

I used to think Bob Irsay was the worst when he stole his team out of Baltimore in the middle of the night. That must have hurt. Now we can look back and see what Baltimore was willing to do to other cities to get its football back, and now I'm not so sure that Irsay was the bad guy.

To be fair, I must give credit to Baltimore for having a nice aquarium. I wonder what city they stole that from.

The Eagles beat the fake Browns last week. Now it's time to beat the real Browns.
