I was reading a post by Sikahema about Vick being a pocket passer, which he is not. It got me thinking though. Maybe Vick shouldn't be spending as much time reading defenses. Maybe he should spend more time on recognizing if the D is using a spy. If he runs enough successfully, which he should be able to when there isn't a spy, the D will have to adjust for him. Once they spy, that means there is an extra d-man who isn't covering. Then there should be extra space out there for all our weapons, and for him to make easier throws to them. Once you get them spying, you run Desean deep to pull 1-2 deep men out, you have the LB short to spy and the mid length routes should be 1 on 1. I have faith that Maclin/Avant/Celek would get open often if you could make this happen, and our O would be eating up chunks of yardage. Then its just a matter of re-adjusting, because they will have to adjust. If they pull the spy out, he runs again. If they single cover Desean, throw it deep. Maybe this is just perfect world stuff. I'm not a football genius. Tell me what you think.
