Game 1 of the preseason obviously had some ups and downs, which many people have discussed. I just wanted to make a quick post to see what 3 things you all will be watching for in game 2? Mine are below:
1. Most obvious, cohesion and tackling among the defense (especially the starting defense). Game 1 presents a scary picture if our one defense looks like that come regular season. I thought Kurt Coleman looked pretty good, but Ryans wasn't getting it done, Jarrett had a terrible game, and any time any play got 4 yards past the D-line things seemed to fall apart. This HAS to be fixed, or we're screwed, plain and simple
2. Phillip Thomas. I watched the game again today and any time I saw P. Thomas he was doing positive things. Especially when he stuffed the RB right at the line for no gain. I hope to see more of him in game 2. If he improves even more throughout the preseason, I'd say he has a good chance of making the roster (possibly dethroning Jarrett or Atogwe, who knows?).
3. Nick Foles part 2. Yes I want to see Vick and Kafka do better. But I gotta admit, if Foles comes out game two and looks even close to as good as he did in game 1, I'm going to be very excited. I'm already thinking "Kirk Cousins, who?" I'm really pulling for this kid.
Please comment or share your top 3 or both. What else should I be looking for?
