This Eagles team is built on speed and built by Andy Reid, the Eagles are built like the team of the future compared to most of the traditional style teams in the NFL. Clearly still the most explosive team in the league but hasn't won a Super Bowl yet. If Reid were to get fired at he end of the season who could take his machine and make it work better. It takes more than a coach who has won Super Bowls. The coach has to understand the make of the team and pretty much pick up were Andy left off, or change everything and try to get the players to learn a whole new philosophy which would be hard. Andy would be hard to replace, you might as well say offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is the new head coach if your gonna run the same style of ball, why go outside to run the same style. Even though Mornhinweg did poorly when he coached the Detroit Lions, back then they were the "Detroit Lions", and I imagine he has learned allot since his time with the Eagles. It makes more since to hire his successor than to hire an outside coach unless they want to change the whole scheme. Marty just might be the one who takes Andy's machine further than him, if not then who?
