Predicting The 53 Man Roster (My fourth article)
I'm going to do what many others before me have done. I am going to predict the 53 man roster. I've been reading many that have blown the entire roster thing out of proportion. They have constantly misread the key position battles, so that so many players were booted off the list. OK, here I go.
QB-Michael Vick, Mike Kafka, Nick Foles
Key Position Battles: Back up QB- I expect Mike Kafka to have a leg up over Nick Foles simply because he knows the offense more than him.
HB-Lesean McCoy, Chris Polk, Bryce Brown
Key Position Battles: Back up RB- It was Dion Lewis's battle to lose and well..he lost. Immaturity to that extant is not going to be tolerated. Have fun in court Dion!
Key Position Battles: None
TE-Brent Celek, Clay Harbor
Key Position Battles: None- All the hype surrounding Brett Brackett should die down when training camp starts.
WR- Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper, Marvin McNutt
Key Position Battles: None
LT-Demetress Bell, King Dunlap
Key Position Battles: None
LG-Evan Mathis, Julian Vandervelde
Key Position Battles: None
C: Jason Kelce, Mike Gibson, Dallas Reynolds
Key Position Battles: None
RE-Trent Cole, Vinny Curry, Phillip Hunt
LE-Jason Babin, Brandon Graham
DT-Cullen Jenkins, Fletcher Cox, Mike Patterson, Derek Landri, Antonio Dixon
Key Position Battles:???-We know Jim Washburn likes a good rotation, but because of the new rookies brought in some veterans had to go bye bye.
MLB-DeMeco Ryans, Casey Matthews
WSLB-Brian Rolle, Jamar Chaney
SSLB-Mychal Kendricks, Akeem Jordan, Monte Simmons
Key Position Battles: 3rd SSLB postion-Moise Fokou had to leave the roster because of his lack of ability on special teams that the other linebackers have.
SS-OJ Atogwe, Kurt Coleman, Jaiquawn Jarret
FS-Nate Allen, Phillip Thomas
Key Position Battles: Starting SS position-This matchup is betwwen Kurt Coleman and OJ Atogwe. Both have a lot to prove but I think OJ Atogwe will come out on top.
CB-Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Joselio Hanson, Brando Boykin, Curtis Marsh
LS-Jon Dorenbos
Note-Chas is out and trevard Lindley and Brandon Hughes are also out.
