Hey guys this is my 2nd post. This could shakes things up with the Eagles RB depth.
This is from rotoworldEagles RB Dion Lewis was arrested early Saturday and charged with a felony count of falsely reporting a fire and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
According to police, Lewis and his brother were locked out of the Hampton Inn in Albany, where they were staying as guests. After banging on the glass doors, they pulled the fire alarm. Both men were reportedly intoxicated at the time. Lewis, who is expected to serve as LeSean McCoy's primary backup this season, was released from jail after his arraignment. This is very bad news for Lewis who was penciled in as the 2nd RB to begin training camp. If he is suspended for this than the Eagles will probably look to Chris Polk or Bryce Brown to become the #2 back to begin the season. I predict based on this latest news that there is a good chance Polk will begin the season as the #2 back and Brown will be #3. The reason for this is very simple Polk has a lot more experience while Brown has next to none in college, the #2 back for the Eagles needs to be able to pass block, Polk also very rarely fumbles which gives the Birds even more reason to push him to #2.
As for Lewis I believe Goodell will suspend him at least 2 games, but it could be even more and it also depends on what will happen to him in court. It sounds like he was just having too much fun and unfortunately for him there's a chance this could really hurt his NFL career. If both Polk and Brown look good in preseason the Eagles could cut him now and wouldn't have to feel bad about it. At the same time if he gets suspended then he doesn't have to count against the 53 man limit to begin the season so the Eagles could also wait till his suspension is over to decide if he deserves a 2nd chance, hopefully they will but there might just be too many mouths to feed at RB on this Roster.
