LaDainian Tomlinson was never an Eagle, but when one of the true greats of the game decides to call it a career I think it's worth mentioning here. While his star faded in New York, there's no doubt that the former Charger will be a Hall of Famer and appropriately, he's decided to retire in San Diego.
Tomlinson was not only the best back in the NFL for a good stretch, he also had the fortune of coming up just as fantasy football truly began to hit the mainstream. So just as the entire country started to play fantasy, Tomlinson was, for years, the ultimate prize.
He retires with 13,684 yards rushing on his resuming, placing him 5th on the all time list. He made 5 Pro Bowls, three first team All Pros, he led the league in rushing twice and has an MVP award under his belt (2006).
He's absolutely one of the best and I think we'll all look forward to seeing him in Canton... maybe the same year as Brian Dawkins!
