I know everyone is siked about the draft and the season to start, but I've been looking closely at the Eagles overall depth and feel there are still a few areas of concern, the other thing I'd like to point out is that it's a buyer's market right now for free agents, there are many proven veterans still available who are hoping to get a job at this point.
The purpose of this post is to name the players who the Eagles could sign to make the team better in areas where they lack key depth, injuries happen all the time in the NFL which is why it is important to field the best team .
Here's my top 5
1. OT Marcus McNeil 28 - McNeil was a beast for San Diego when healthy and he's only 28, he still has a lot of injury concerns but If he's willing to sign for the minimum and he's healthy I'd take him, over DJ Jones or Dennis Kelly.
2. P Matt McBriar 33- I don't really know too much about him but he's 33 and was a Pro Bowl Punter for Dallas in 2010 and is probably more solid then either of the bums they have now. He's recovering from a cyst removal but expected to be healthy.
3. S Jim Leonhard 29 - Leonard was a solid safety for the Jets last season before he tore his ACL he's another injury risk but with risk comes reward.
4. OT Max Starks 30- Starks is a massive Tackle who's also an injury risk and coming off injury, however he did a good enough job to protect Big Ben's blindside for there super bowl run 2 years ago. (obviously the Eagles wont sign Starks and McNeil but either one would be better depth)
5. FB Ovie Mughelli 32 - Another guy coming off a torn MCL but before you dismiss him, all he did was lead Block for Atlanta since 2007 and Turner had some good years during that time, Mughelli would certainly be better than Havili.
Note worthy mentions Donovan McNabb jk too much drama, G/C Jason Brown, S OJ Atogwe.
Let me know what you think and who your top 5 would be.
