Drew Rosenhaus spoke with the media briefly this evening (he's at the Eagles facility BTW) in the wake of the LeSean McCoy contract and revealed that Andy Reid himself sat in on the negotiations to ensure the deal got done. Rosenhaus said that this had never happened before with the Eagles and is very rare for any coach to do.
He also said that the reason McCoy had fired him last season was that McCoy had concerns about his relationship with the Eagles. This certainly says a lot about McCoy and his desire to stay here in Philadelphia.
Drew obviously convinced McCoy that his relationship with the Eagles was good and then seemingly went on to prove it this offseason. The Eagles got three big deals done with Rosenhaus clients (DeSean, Mathis & Shady). Rosenhaus said that doing this number of big deals with one team in one offseason was unprecedented for him.
Rosenhaus also said that the he sees the Eagles as one of the most aggressive teams in the NFL when it comes to signing their own players.
We are a long way from "Next question." Rosenhaus now has 6 clients on the Eagles. He's sitting in the NovaCare complex chatting with Dave Spadaro. Not something I ever would have thought I'd see 5 or 6 years ago.
