Bored of all this mock draft news I keep reading (even though I know I add to them for you guys). So figured I'd do something different with my spare time today and post about some news that happened today in the NFL that may affect the birds.
Riley Reiff pleaded guilty to an incident that happened back in 2009. Maybe I'm a little late on this issue but I wasn't aware of him having a troubled past. This type of news can really scorch a players value. Maybe he falls to the second round in which I'm all for taking him there. We see it every year where good players get their draft stocks destroyed because of off the field incidents, I don't even want to name them. In all reality this could be nothing though. On the bright side, it says he had to be subdued by 8 police officers, the kid has some fight in him.
Chris Crocker got released today. This is more what I wanted to talk about. Many fans on here want to see the Eagles add a strong vet presence to our S position. I believe Crocker to be about the same as Yeremiah Bell which most Eagle fans want to see us go after, mostly because of his connection to Todd Bowles. Bell is the superior tackler, but Crocker is the better bet for coverage ability. Could be interesting to see if Philly makes a move here? I'd still personally rather see us give JJ a few off-season and see if he has a chance to be a pro starter or not still, especially with having a real secondary coach now.
Derek Landri is visiting the Bucs. This just sucks. Apparently the interest in mutual according to Rotoworld.com, I was really hoping Philly found a way to bring him back. I guess this just means that Eagles are focusing more on depth than to bring him or Laws back next year. Also, Trevor Laws visited the Rams, don't really care to much about that though
