Much has been made of the fact that the Eagles have to face 4 teams coming off their bye week in the 2012 season. Teams the Eagles will face coming off of a bye: 5. Steelers (Away) 6. Lions (Home) 8. Falcons (Home) 11.Redskins(Away) But how much of a problem is it to face a team coming off of a bye? The author of this blog claims to have done the math. According to this post, the bye week confers no special advantage on home teams. However, the bye week did seem to work in favor of road teams, especially if that team was the favorite going in. If this analysis is correct, then it looks like the Lions coming in week 6 and the Falcons coming in week 8 might have some special bye mojo working for them. However, the Eagles themselves will be coming off their bye for the Falcons game, and Andy Reid has never lost the game directly after the bye since he's been head coach.
