Ok guys and gals. All this draft talk has been fun and enlightening. I enjoyed reading everyones mocks and player reviews. Everyone seems to have their favorite players, positions of greatest need, and methods to satisfy those needs. As I see it (and I'm sure others will agree) I would really like the Eagles to stop trying to plug holes with late round draft picks. I'm done with 6th and 7th round picks as starters. I'm done with "high motor" guys or injury rebound guys. Lastly, Im tired of us having 10 picks in the draft and drafting 10 guys that only produce one quality starter.
The Eagles have a pretty good team. There are holes and depth issues but we all know that if the same exact team returned next year, we'd probably be able to duplicate the 8-8 record or better. I say this not because I am satisfied in any measure, but because to the Bills, Skins, Panthers, Jags etc.. 8-8 would be an achievement. Now, before you jump all over me, I don't think the basement of the league should be who we should measure our success against. I say this to illustrate my belief that we are only two or three players away from the playoffs. I would much prefer the Eagles to package as many picks (player trades)as need be to get 3 high quality players in the draft.
So there it is. I invite you all to dream up your best scenarios to get 3 (only 3) good (potentially great) players in the draft. My self, I would love to be able to get Kuchley, Floyd, and Zack Brown. If we had to give Asante and all our other picks in this years draft to do it I would agree to it in a heartbeat and run. I don't know if it is even feasible with what we have to trade but its nice to dream right?
What say you Bleeding Green Brethren? 3 picks, trade what ever or who ever you want to get the 3 guys that could make the greatest impact on this team. Lets have some fun with this!
