In case you guys haven't heard yet. Ryan had a fantastic pro day. Threw 65-68 on his passes and had only 2 drop balls during his work outs and ran a respectable 4.61. I'm going to go ahead and rain all over this parade as an Eagle fan.
Yes I believe we do need a rookie as competition for Kafka as a backup and possibly as the future starter, but not to trade up for. The only way we are going to land Ryan is if we trade up to the number 7 spot with JAX to beat out MIA for the pick, and that's if CLE doesn't jump on this gravy train now at number 4. I don't think its worth the resources to trade up and I don't see Andy trading up for him either. We are in win now status, not later, why send out the resources to move up for a player who won't even start this year except maybe a game or two when/if Vick goes down?
I like Tannehill, alot. I just don't think he's worth it. If we didn't have Vick then by all means, I'd be all about it. If Ryan falls to the number 15 spot and an elite talent in DT or WR isn't there or Kuechly, then I would not be upset about the Eagles taking Ryan, and that's only at the 15 spot. It could be real interesting and fun to watch him playing WITH Vick. We could make some CRAZY packages for those 2 to be on the field at the same time, line one or both at wideout, or double option with them both in the backfield. Idk, you guys can get creative.
There are a few project QBs out there that I like alot who have more exp than Ryan at the QB position. I'm a big fan of Brock Osweiler and Kellen Moore. Brock might be out there as late as a third and Moore is looking like a 6th rounder right about now for his draft stock. Even Russel Wilson has caught my eye lately.
I see and respect the valid arguments some may have for Ryan Tannehill, I just don't agree it's the man for us.
