This is our chance to revamp our defense's image. Since Dawkins was allowed to walk (still bitter) our defense has been a shell of its former self. Hugh, Trott, Taylor, Vincent, and Dawk we're relentless and mean- much like Buddy's; Waters, White, Simmons, Joyner, and Brown team back in the early 90's.

I agree with the Mocks that say we are in need of a DT, just not in the first. With Jenkins, Patterson, and Dixon we have 3 solid starters rotating in on a 2 man position. A 2nd or 3rd round pick up in a DT heavy draft year is all we need. Dixon is healthy this year and will bolster our line like he did in 2010.
As for Safety. Both Allen and Coleman showed signs of true potential last year. Allen finished very strong and will come in healthy. Coleman, while at times broke down in coverage showed he has the talent and never shys from contact. Along with Jarrett waiting for his chance I'm happy with our group at Safety. Kuechly is what we need
With exception to newly acquired Ryans and on occasion Chaney, we are still weak at LB. We have a chance to bring in a true tackling machine. With Ryans in the Middle, Chaney at WIL, and Kuechly at SAM we will have a very solid, and aggressive LB core. That partnered with our QB hungry D line and arguably the best CB unit in football- our defense will have that intimidating "I want to hurt you" presence again. This fast and flashy image we've given ourselves has helped us on offense over the last few years, but we need the Blue Collar, Smash Mouth style that we embodied so well in the previous 2 decades back.
