Mohamed Sanu is one of my favorite WR prospects in the draft. I believe he would be a great fit for the Eagles and a great pick in round 2.
Sanu is a big, sure handed, fearless and physical receiver. He has excellent body control and the game knowledge and intelligence that will allow him to read defenses at the next level.
He can win jump balls, and catch in traffic, and is a very willing blocker. He's a team first player and willing to put in the work to get on the field even if it means changing positions.
However, he was more than just a go-to receiver. Sanu is also very versatile, he was the Scarlet Knight's QB in their wildcat offense and rushed 125 times for 653 yards (5.2ypc). He also returned 28 punts and 2 kicks for 134 yards and punted twice for 67 yards as well as recording 1 interception.
Sanu’s weakness is his lack of elite straight line speed. He ran a disappointing 4.67 40 yard dash the combine *** EDIT: He ran a 4.41 and 4.48 at his Pro Day ****. He will however have a chance to improve this time at his Pro Day (which is today). He does demonstrate burst and explosion in smaller areas, combined with his strength and physicality that allow him to get open.
Bonuses:
- He has played all receiver positions in a West Coast System
- Intelligent, hardworking, high character (for what it’s worth)
- From Jersey, so he’s local, kind of. Even though he’s from South Brunswick which is closer to NYC, he’d be close to home in Philly.
