Who's left out there who can fit?

We're a week and some change into Free Agency and while most of the big names are gone there are some guys out there who are very capable players who can come in and help the Eagles.

There is no particular order to these so don't try and critique my "rankings". So after the jump I'll get started

(1) Josh Johnson, Quarterback.

Josh Johnson seems to be a QB whom the Eagles like to work with. He's athletic, he's got a good arm and he's played well in his limited action. Johnson not only has the tools to be a good backup but he's young enough that he could potentially turn into the QB of the future if he developed well enough. Keep in mind that he played in a West Coast Offense similar to the one the Eagles run while in college under Jim Harbaugh at the University of San Diego so in theory he would make a great fit. The reason I bring him up is because I think he'd prove to be an upgrade over Kafka and Edwards.

(2) Micheal Bush, Running Back.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Eagles need to bring in another RB not to compliment McCoy but to compliment Lewis just incase something (knock on wood) happens to McCoy. Bush proved to be a quality backup in Oakland and he fell just short of 1,000 yards in 2011. Bringing in somebody like Bush would be wise for the Eagles because he and Lewis would provide a nice 1-2 punch if need be and if needed Bush has proven he can carry the load 20-30 times in a game for an extended period of time. Bush does not however provide much as far as catching the ball out of the backfield but he's a decent blocker who'll help keep Vick safe if need be.

(3) Stephen Tulloch, Middle Linebacker.

I don't think there's much to say about this guy. He's the ideal Wide-9 LB on the market and would instantly upgrade our LB core.

(4) Curtis Lofton, Middle Linebacker.

Once again, another big time LB whom would be a major upgrade. He has not been a wide-9 MIKE however he'd most likely be effective since he's a tackling machine. The Eagles would likely have to find a way to protect him in coverage however that won't be to difficult if we bring in a SAM LB who can cover.

(5) David Hawthorne, Middle Linebacker/Strong side Linebacker.

Hawthorne's likely my favorite LB out of this crop just because signing him would give the Eagles the ability to bring in Luke via the Draft and due to Hawthorne's versatility he could slide over to SAM LB in the Eagles scheme and that would make our LB's infinitely better.

(6) Erin Henderson, Outside Linebacker.

Erin is one of the more underrated players in this FA class and probably the entire NFL. He's a very effective LB and could likely come in here and play SAM LB for us. He's never played in the wide-9 however but I'm sure he'd be fine.

(7) Brodrick Bunkley, Defensive Tackle.

I do think the Eagles should have kept Bunkley a year ago however they traded him and now he's looking for a place to play in 2012, the Eagles could bring him back and I do think that given the right coaching he could help us along our DL.
