The Linc - What Is LeSean McCoy Worth?

Shady not worth big money in pass-first NFL
With the NFL now a pass-happy league -- as the Super Bowl proved -- Ron Burke explains why the Eagles shouldn't pay RB LeSean McCoy top dollar.

Iggles Blitz " Blog Archive " Embrace It?
Should Andy Reid embrace Super Bowl talk? I don’t mean go all Rex Ryan and start talking about how we’re the best and definitely will win the SB. I’m talking more about openly using the phrase "Super Bowl" when discussing the season and goals.

NFL 2012 predictions: Baltimore Ravens are the favorite to win Super Bowl XLVII - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN
The "Dream Team" took its hits during the 2011 season, but it ended the season with four straight wins and a lot of momentum heading into the offseason. DeSean Jackson likely won’t be back, and there are 11 other free agents to be decided on, but for the most part, the Eagles are trending upwards. If the linebackers can improve and Philly can find a way to score in the red zone, Philadelphia’s a very scary team heading into next season.

The article about McCoy forgets to look at all the play off teams. What about a team like Denver, Baltimore, Texans, Falcons and 49’ers? All carried by a good RB, good defense (except Falcons) and mostly above avg QB.

If the Ealges upgrade there LBs, use McCoy and Vick can play good but mistake free football, this team can compete for the Super Bowl

Not to mention all the stuff he does outside the running game. Just because he’s a running back does not mean that’s his only job.

Agreed!

He’s improved his pass catching and after he catches it he becomes a running back again……very dangerous!!! His blitz pick up also has been much better.

McCoy deserves big money. Sure his RB life is low, but they all are. But at the same time he probably has a good 5 or 6 really good years ahead of him before he even starts to slow down.

People draw conclusions based on incomplete and inaccurate data.

True story: My wife and kids wanted a dog. I didn’t want a dog because I would be the one taking care of it. I negotiated down to a cat because cats are largely self sufficient. We adopted a cat and brought it home. That day, my daughter started sneezing. My wife would not fathom that she just might have had a cold and started calling aroudn to see if we could get another house for the cat. I told her that she probably just has a cold and we need to wait to see before making that type of decision. She said it “has to be allergies to the cat” because she started sneezing the same day we got it!

We still have the cat. My daughter stopped sneezing the next day.

Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???

McCoy

article is a joke. McCoy has earned his payday, you just dont over pay and you keep the incentives big for him. Mr. Ron Burke must have missed the part where McCoy while dominated at running the ball in a pass happy league also has avg. 55 catches a year. Wake up Burke, McCoy we need while others we can live without.
I must thank you though Burke for writing something that would bring the Eagles community together on something again.

shady article is not even worth reading…it legit just pissed me off. The author sounds like an idiot. Not trying to be disrespectful, but that was an absolute waste of the 5 min it took to read. Not pay Mccoy…ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Shady is pivotal to this offense, despite this being a “pass happy” league. You still need a sound run game, and we’ve got more then that. Like Anders said, look at all the teams in the playoffs…the Giants and Pats were prob the only two teams in the playoffs that didn’t have a good run game. And in my opinion both of them were lucky to get in. Should have been a Ravens, 49ers Superbowl, both who have a stout defense and great run game. Article is terrible. Pay Shady. Period. Above any other FA on our roster right now.

I would hate to see the Front Office

Actually believe that and not pay him (Of course they’ll pay him!). If that happens, oh there will be hell…

Yeah I’m sure Andy Reid, Joe Banner and Howie Roseman have Ron Burke first on their speed dial for player personnel advice.

Ron Burke licks windows on a short bus

Anyone who writes an article without checking his or her facts does not deserve to have a job. Adrian Peterson went to the NFC championship. Shady is one of the most versatile dual threats in the league and he’s only 23 years young. Pay him and then have everyone petition to make sure Ron Burke never writes another article. Without Shady this year our offense didn’t exist. The writing was on the wall when we ran more than twenty five times we won every game this season. What a jackass!

Anybody who

thinks Shady should not get paid top dollar is MENTAL, sorry to say. That guy almost led the NFL in rushing while playing for the Eagles. We all know he doesn’t even get enough touches most games

run sets up the pass

it’s true most of the recent top rushers did not get the SB Ring. If you run to win you need a strong Defense, if you run to set up the pass, you need a QB who can hit targets, perferably those wearing the same colors as he is!

by Forever eagle green on Feb 10, 2012 4:52 AM EST reply actions

continued

But if the RB does as good Shady has pay him. One less piece of the puzzle we need to find on our quest for the elucive SB Ring
