Stupid. McCoy deserves to be paid. He mentioned a lot of other RBs that haven’t let to postseason success; that’s because their team sucks, not because the RB position isn’t important anymore.

Unless you have a Manning(yes, Eli too), Brady, Brees or Rodgers on your team, you still need a good running back. Ask the Texans, Broncos, and Niners, how much running backs meant to their team. McCoy carried the offense numerous times this past season. It’s not his fault the rest of the team were turnover prone or the defense couldn’t stop opponents. You don’t let a HOF potential running back walk. Didn’t expect this from Burke.

If Kyle Williams doesn’t fumble three times and the Ravens can kick a field goal, we’re talking about 2 teams with power running games making it to the Super Bowl. But whatever.

I like how when he cites top-12 RBs who haven’t come close to a title, he includes Benson (who was in the SB – albeit for a dismal offense) and Peterson (who has been to the NFC CG) and also conveniently leaves out highly-drafted Reggie Bush, who has a Super Bowl ring (though not a feature back either) and Marshawn Lynch, who actually hasn’t had much playoff success.

Either way, I don’t know what he was going for with that tidbit.
