Revisiting 2011 draft-day trades
Trying to numb the pain of watching the Giants win it all, I went searching for mock drafts. I was hoping to find something that went beyond the standard pre-free-agent guesses, like maybe players already in the league who could surprise this year ... and I found this:
It's a re-analyzation of the draft-day trades based on who the picks were actually used on. So for instance that year when we dumped Reggie Brown on the Bucs for a 6th rounder becomes:
Philadelphia Eagles traded Reggie Brown (2010) to the Tampa Bay Bucs for David Carter.
Philadelphia Eagles traded David Carter to the Arizona Cardinals for Reggie Wells.
Our net gain is Reggie Brown for Reggie Wells ... or basically nil.
In any case, since the Eagles make a ton of draft-day trades, it's interesting to revisit who the player-for-pick trades actually turned out to be. Everyone from Jamar Chaney to Casey Mathews is involved.
I didn't find many instances of them really getting burned. I mean I guess we could have had Jah Reid instead of Marsh and Kelce ... take a look. Do you see any instances where you wish they hadn't made the trade?

San Francisco 49ers traded Donald Butler (2010) to the San Diego Chargers for Navarro Bowman (2010), Anthony Dixon(2010), and Kendall Hunter.
Son of a bitch, Chargers got fleeced.
Baltimore Ravens traded Antwan Barnes (2010) to the Philadelphia Eagles for Anthony Allen.
I REALLY liked Barned and was pretty upset when we got rid of him.

How about this messed up transaction from 2010:
Eagles trade the 55th selection in the draft to Dallas, and recieve the 59th and 125th selections. The 59th pick was traded to Cleveland for the 71st pick, 134th pick and 146th pick. The 71st pick was traded to Green Bay for the 86th and 122nd picks. The 146th pick was traded to San Diego for the 159th pick and a 2011 5th round pick #149.
Got that? Good. So this trade worked out to be this:
The Eagles traded Sean Lee, Montario Hardesty, Morgan Burnett and Cam Thomas for Clay Harbor, Ricky Sapp, DTO, Mike Kafka, Riley Cooper, and Dion Lewis.
Really wish we hadn’t done that.

Wow….that’s horrible. So we gave up what would be our starting MLB, back-up power HB, starting S and big upgrade over who we have, and a big strong NT for a back-up TE who rarely sees the field, somebody who quit on the team and got cut, somebody who got cut, 3rd string QB who might not be with the team next year, the #4 WR and probably 6th on the list of people to target, and a decent back-up HB. Alex Henery might be the best pick we’ve made since Roseman took over, and that’s sad.

2010 draft
Is going to go down as an epic stinker. Kind of draft especially with 4 4th round picks and 2 5th round pick where at the very least the Eagles should have been able to build up some valuable depth & find a starter or two even. Instead they got Lindlay, Clayton, Kafka, Harbor, Sapp, and Cooper.
That’s a pile of useless cr@p for the most part.
It will
But I don’t think anything will ever touch the fail that is the 2008 draft. If DeSean really does leave, and we don’t resign either Laws or Dunlap, not a single player from that draft class will still be on the roster. That is a terrible look. You don’t have anyone from that draft on your roster after all their rookie contracts are up?
Just wow.

Of course it was all predicated on trading Lee
If we had kept him it would have been unlikely we would have gotten the others, but man, I’d trade all of those guys and then some to have Sean Lee on this team. It was particularly deflating because I called my buddy up right at that pick and said “Sean Lee, right here.” …and went he did, to the wrong team.

great find
At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!
No way Eagles draft a LB in the first round 2012.
We will see if Spags was in the right place at the right time in the Gmens SB run. Or was that the fluke year and he really is just mediocre.
Math is wrong I think
All the players the Eagles got was for the Lee pick only.
So Lee needs to be eliminated from the ‘cost’ side if the equation.
Lee (55) = Hardesty (59) + Harbor (125) = Burnett (71) + Sapp (134) + Thomas (146) + Harbor (125) = TeoNeshim (86) + Kafka (122) +Sapp (134) + Thomas (146) + Harbor (125) = Harbor (125) + Sapp (134) + TeoNeshim (86) + Kafka (122) + Cooper (159) + Lewis (2011 149)
So Eagles could have had any of those groupings; not all of the non-Eagles players listed.
Just Lee seems liked it would have been the best choice given the utter failure of the LB corps this year, especially since the Eagles DE draft picks continue to fail miserably as well.
