At Super Bowl festivities, DeSean Jackson mum on contract
In a little over two weeks, DeSean Jackson will find out if the Eagles intend to franchise him on the first day they are able to do so. The wide receiver, who attended The NFL Honors Show on Saturday, said that he did not know where he stood with the Eagles.

Alec Baldwin rips Eagles in front of Jackson, McCoy
Actor and well-noted sports enthusiast Alec Baldwin kicked off the 2012 NFL Honors show on Saturday night by poking fun at Kim Kardashian, Clay Matthews, Tim Tebow and (last, but not least) the 2011 Eagles.

Jets fans feel real pain of Giants-Pats SB
This Super Bowl might be painful for most Eagles fans. Watching Boston battle New York for the ultimate prize isn't easy, but at least you don't root for the Jets.

A fitting end to a crappy season indeed.

I think that is the worst part. Had the Giants been 12-4 or better in the season I could accept em as Super Bowl champs, but 9-7 team there had only 2 good thing (passing offense and dline), with the rest been garbage.

by Anders Jensen on Feb 6, 2012 7:33 AM EST up reply actions

Exactly. It would have sucked, but I can deal with a good Giants team. I can give credit where credit is due. The Giants of the late 80’s and 90’s were good. As much as I hated them, the Cowboys of the 90’s were great.

But the Giants aren’t good. They are lucky. And that makes it worse when the Eagles aren’t. They are unlucky. Its horrible.

I want to puke every time I see Eli complete another downfield pass throwen from his back foot. Everything about Elis throwing motion is wrong, the only right about him as a QB is his comfort in the pocket

by Anders Jensen on Feb 6, 2012 7:09 PM EST up reply actions

that's what I thought

worst SB champs ever. 9-7?? NFL needs to amend the playoff system: No team with fewer than 10 wins can be in the playoffs.

Not gonna throw shade on their record because if we had won the super bowl we would have 8-8 record other fan bases would bitch at…

NFL is a league

where people don’t block, don’t tackle, don’t play as a team, but run real fast, jump real high, talk themselves up and make lots of money.

The great thing about all this is – its moving more and more into this corner every year. Eventually it will die.

by waterfield on Feb 6, 2012 12:49 PM EST up reply actions

it is worse than this

If they had just not run out a punt returner, and let the ball fall to the ground, the Giants dont go. ugh

Dude,

you got to get past the 3-year-old stage.

What did you guys think of the halftime show?

It seemed like people either loved it or hated it. I hated it & don’t get how people could of liked it they must be HUGE Madonna fans

I'm not a huge Madonna fan

I thought from a spectacle point of view, it was the best they’ve ever put together. But I deduct points for the lip-synching. What was there to hate about it?

by donniethelion on Feb 6, 2012 9:53 AM EST up reply actions

I thought the entertainment value was great.

Huge spectacle, lots to look at, etc. Her song selection left me a bit underwhelmed. The entrance and singing Vogue I thought was good. Ending with Like A Prayer was good. Definitely one of her better songs. But all the lip-syncing and random cameos just didn’t do it for me. The whole middle part was a mess.

Notes for DeSean Jackson from the Super Bowl

1. The team with the best punt returner didn’t even make the playoffs
2. DeSean Jackson-style receivers played no role for either team in the Super Bowl

Nobody is on DeSean Jackson's level. That's why.

by ILL Eagle on Feb 6, 2012 3:31 PM EST up reply actions

Looking at the Giants and Patriots, they do not have a Jackson style receiver.

by Anders Jensen on Feb 6, 2012 7:07 PM EST up reply actions

How fortunate can you get?

T. Brady, 27/41, 276, 2TD, 1INT

Include taking 2 sacks (including one on the final drive and a number of pressures and knockdowns) and causing a safety on an intentional grounding call in the end zone. Those numbers are mediocre.

Who else gets mediocre Tom Brady in the SuperBowl?

Not sure what you meant

But Brady’s numbers against the Eagles in SB-XXXIX are comparable, so maybe you mean the Eagles also got a mediocre Brady.

T.Brady, 23/33, 236, 2TD, 0INT

He averaged 10.2-10.3 yrd/cmp in both games and had 2TDs. Key differences being no safety and no interception. He played that game clean.

Alec Baldwin's rip on the Eagles was kind of spot-on.

Even if he did fall back on the tired Dream Team thing.

sweet, the ginas win the super bowl and the eagles are now (and have been all season) a walking punchline…. i wonder if alec baldwin found time to make fun of the jets for guaranteeing their third super bowl in a row…

When I die, I want the Philadelphia Eagles to be the pallbearers at my funeral. So they can let me down, one last time.
