Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

I never want to hear another Eagle fan

I never want hear another fellow Eagle fan to ever say the words "it isn't worth making the playoffs and getting bumped in the first round, its better to have them lose and get rid of Reid" ONCE AGAIN the Giants proved that all it takes is getting in and everyone has a shot... it is a gross realization that this should have been us and its even worse to hear when the Eagles were mathematically still in it after the Miami game to hear the callers on WIP saying we should just lose because "it isn't worth making the playoffs and getting bumped in the first round, its better to have them lose and get rid of Reid"

We got in plenty of times with Reid

Didn’t win shit. At some point it’s crazy to do the same things and expect different results, Andy Reid will never win a Superbowl as a headcoach that’s what over 10 years of data tells me.

Exactly. The Giants get scrape into the playoffs and win the Superbowl. The Eagles will never win a Superbowl w/Reid.

The thing is that we didn't make it, and there really was no chance.

AR should have to wear a Flava Flav necklace until he learns how to manage a clock.

I think that’s his point. He’s tired of hearing people complain about just making the playoffs and never the Superbowl, and the using that as their reasoning for wanting Reid fired.

Well, when the Eagles have a QB … as clutch as …. (Jesus, I can’t believe I am about type this, I almost feel nauseous) …. Eli, then maybe we can hope to “get hot” at “the right time” after squeaking into the playoffs, but until then, the higher draft pick that losing brings is usually more valuable in the long run to the organization than a win or two after being eliminated from contention can offer and/or firing Reid.

(O)h, and most importantly, thanks for regurgitating your comment from the other thread into a FanPost of it’s own.

HUH???

Speak louder!!

At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!

No way Eagles draft a LB in the first round 2012.

We will see if Spags was in the right place at the right time in the Gmens SB run. Or was that the fluke year and he really is just mediocre.

I realize this wasn't a popular thread

But he’s got a point.

No need to rehash the list of 6 seeds and 9-7 teams that make and win Super Bowls.

First part of the deal is getting in, second part is playing your best football and being healthy while you’re there.

Anyone who says just because it hasn’t happened before means it can’t happen in the future clearly didn’t comprehend the magnitude of what we just saw last night. That Giant win was some unprecedented shit.

Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring it Home for Jerome.

I think that most of the talk about losing would be better pertained to getting a better draft position. I started thinking that when we dropped to 4-8. I don’t blame people for looking to the next season if the playoffs are out of the picture, which they all but mathematically were. Wild card was never really a possibility at that point, and the division was a long shot. I’m surprised that we lasted until the next to last week.

I’m all for playing to win, but why not protect your key players and give some second and third string players some extended game time experience? What if, say, Vick tears and ACL week 17 against Washington?

Go Eagles!
