Told by 2 people close to Mannings that Peyton very likely to be a Redskin despite smokescreen being put of their by Skins to seek other QBs. -Howard Eskin

That may be horseshit. But why would Peyton want to be a fucking Redskin? Shanahan’s a running game guy and a control freak; Peyton’s used to running his own offense. Plus their WRs are terrible.

This is just strange.

Yeah it's a terrible situation

And being in the same division as his brother?

Even with Peyton they are still years away from winning. I think their biggest off season prioirty (yes, even higher than QB) is deciding what to do with London Fletcher. Does he give the team a hometown, I’m 37 years old discount or does he try to get paid on past performance (which has been pretty damn close to elite)?? If he plays hardball and walks their defense is a mess. They’ll have the young pass rushers (Orakpo + Kerrigan) but NOTHING to go with them (you also have to expect Laron Landry to either be a) injured or b) somewhere else).

Even if Peyton somehow does decide a city with few offensive weapons and a pourous defense is where he wants to call home I question if the skins would be interested. I live here in DC and all reports have been the same… little interest in Manning, ZERO interest in Flynn, and a lot of interest in Orton. Granted, the shanny to schefter connection has been well documented but I still have a hard time believing any of it.

I would like it

Means they wouldn’t be getting RG3 or Luck.. and Manning with Shannahans deadskins doesn’t scare me at all

Plus they would spend a shitload of cap getting Manning

Just wait until December..

If the 49ers

Got ahold of a healthy Peyton Manning…

That’s scary. Smith didn’t have a bad year by any stretch of the imagination but, he’s not in the same league as a healthy Payton.

If I was Peyton I think I would go to the Dolphins

Naw.

Same division as Brady and the Jets’ defense.

If Peyton’s smart, he’ll go to the NFC West.

Those defenses are scary though. The 49ers, Seahawks and Cardinals defenses can kill people.

The Seahawks defense is pretty friggin’ good. And the Cardinals defense really came on late, they powered that team’s turnaround.

kinda like how the eagles defense came on late and powered their turnaround… i’m sure it’s different somehow, hmm?

I don’t think they’d worry about the Jets with Peyton, & they played the Pats tough at the end of the year, but I’d still give the edge to the Pats most likely.

I honestly think Kansas City or Oakland would be his best locale

I know they both have QBs (kinda) but I could see a Farve-Pennington thing with them. I like Peyton to the skins cause that’s likely to end poorly. I also think the Cardinals would be good for him. I think San Fran stays will Smith for a few more years.

Mike Vick: "Why would they kick to Desean?"

Oakland just gave up 2 #1s for an old QB. KC wouldn’t be a shock to me but, with Bowe leaving I’m not sure Payton will want to go there.

For some strange reason, I think Peyton is going to stay with the Colts and the Colts are going to pick RGIII with their pick

If Andrew Luck doesn’t go first overall the Rams are going to be some rich mother f***ers

by fhqwagads on Feb 5, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

I know, if this happens I see the browns giving up both their 1st round picks and probably next year 1st round pick to get Luck

by NJEaglesFan on Feb 5, 2012 10:53 PM EST up reply actions

Classic Dan Snyder move

That would be great for the rest of the division. Peyton would outplay Eli. Eat up a load of cap. And would further keep the team from being contenders for the next half decade.

Favorite Prospects: Martin, Burfict, Rainey, Curry

The eagles hired the best FA's last year

look what good it does

At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!

No way Eagles draft a LB in the first round 2012.

We will see if Spags was in the right place at the right time in the Gmens SB run. Or was that the fluke year and he really is just mediocre.

by MightyJoeBanner on Feb 5, 2012 10:55 PM EST reply actions

Let them get Manning. A healthy Peyton is nearly unstoppable but I’d rather deal with that for a few seasons as opposed to getting owned by RG3 for the next 10 years.

Where superstars go to die. Besides London Flecher, hes the second cousin of Jesus making him Tom Brady’s 3rd cousin.
