Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Right now the Eagles have about $23 million in cap space. If we take into account the players that will be gone (Asante/Parker/Jamaal/maybe Justice), the cap room will be over $30 million. Wow.

Remember that it will be lower after we resign the free agents we want to keep (by then maybe around $25 mil), but still, it's impressive considering how much money we spent on last year's free agency coup. We've still got lots of room to play around with.

Just a question...

With the whole cap-rollover thing, does this mean if we hyptothetically had 20 million in cap space every year by year 10 we’ll have 200 million more to spend then everyone else? Or is there some sort of limit?

Still gotta deal with DeSean… and Shady and Maclin are gonna need some big $ after this year.

Heard that

Would really like to make sure we keep Cullen Jenkins in the fold before we do anything with DeSean

Don’t we have him on a multi year deal?

I was reading the other day that his contract would be about 7.5M for 2012 + a 5M bonus. Not fatal (getting rid of Samuel alone would cover a lot of it), but I think it was structured as kind of a “1 yr with an out” kind of contract.

awesome lets get all the top rated FA’s this year too! We can be the Redskins of this decade

At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!

No way Eagles draft a LB in the first round 2012.

We will see if Spags was in the right place at the right time in the Gmens SB run. Or was that the fluke year and he really is just mediocre.

Do we really have that much cap room

or does that presume that we simply don’t pay our guys the roster bonusses?

I think the actual number is $14M if you factor those in.
