Kobe Bryant Is Recruiting Rob Gronkowski For The Eagles
Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski was in attendance at the Lakers vs Celtics game the other night and Philly native Kobe Bryant took the opportunity to recruit to Gronk to his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
"I told him the Eagles need a tight end," Bryant said. "I’m recruiting. He’s a freak athlete. He shouted at me and I shouted back. It’s fun to have those conversations with athletes you respect."
There’s no doubt Gronkowski is a freak athlete, but if Kobe was watching the Eagles this year he probably would have seen that Brent Celek had a pretty good year.
Then again, the Pats make it work with two TEs…

Brent Celek is nice but the door couldn’t hit him in the ass fast enough if I had to choose between him and Gronk.

Btw
Did anyone see how disgustingly swollen Gronkowski’s elbow was in that game (pictured above). It was pretty bad, but yet I never heard a peep about it from the announcers or post-game analysts.
He never said a world either.

Oh wow
I didn’t even notice that. Yeah that’s pretty swollen.

Yeah
He caught a touchdown pass at one point in that game and fell backwards on his elbow and you could see the ball of blood flop around (it was already swollen at that point). It was blatantly obvious/gross. That’s why I was so surprised I didn’t hear the announcers mention it.
Kobe the engima
I don’t know whether to hate the guy or love him. He says he hates the cowboys. Then he is trying to recruit a great players to the birds. He also said he wanted to tear the hearts out of philly fans in finals. So its a hard choice

Whether you hate him or love him, respect him for what he's given the NBA the last 16 years.
He LOVES his hometown. He’s often visiting Lower Merion HS during the summers to promote and educate as well as have some fun with the students and hoops aspirants. Let’s not forget that when he won his first ASG MVP in Philly, the fans gave him nothing but loud boos. But he loves the Eagles and loves the city.

Yeah he loved his wife too…
I really wouldn’t dislike the guy as much if the whole rape thing didn’t come about. Love the player, hate the person.

Whats frustrating is
I like cheering for local stars and I like it when they try to rep our city. But yet it never really feels real…
Like this time- of course, his job isn’t to do serious recruitment for the Eagles. But he just doesn’t seem like a true fan. Why state publicly that the Eagles need a TE- when if you watch the tape you’d know how useful Brent Celek is? Obviously Gronk is an enormous upgrade, but somehow I don’t see him demanding the Pats move him to Philly on Kobe’s advice

i love the guy!
I’m from Los Angeles and I appreciate all of the NBA Championships Kobe has brought to us here in LA. I usually can count on him and the Lakers to make a run at the championship every year. So even when the Eagles dissapoint, I can always look forward to basketball season. That being said, those championships won’t mean as much as an Eagles Superbowl win!!! Maybe because it’s easier to win a NBA title, than a Superbowl…or maybe because I’ve experienced many Laker championships…either way I’d rather have an Eagles Superbowl win!

Black Mamba
is the man. He was playing philly when he said that. Watching him break Chesters press BY HIMSELF was amazing! He is an athlete this city should support!
At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!
No way Eagles draft a LB in the first round 2012.
We will see if Spags was in the right place at the right time in the Gmens SB run. Or was that the fluke year and he really is just mediocre.

It's never easy being an Eagle fan........but I'll be damned if I ever stop !

How would this even work?
Can we afford him if we had the chance?

What would you do if you had Gronkowski?
2 Tight Ends at the same time.

Maybe kobe
should just retire from basketball and come join the eagles and be the rz threat were lacking???

Kobe doesn't know the Eagles
Tight end is the least of the problems. Celek is sure hands and quick for a big guy. Kobe’s caught up in the moment of mutual affection.
