Todd Bowles: "I'm Straight Philadelphia"

PrintTodd Bowles was not declaring his sexual orientation to the city this week when he said "I'm straight Philadelphia." He was referring to the fact that he played his college ball in the city at Temple and that his hard working attitude on focus on winning mirrors that of the fans here.

Of Philly be a ‘blue-collar’ town. Philly hasn’t been a major manufacturing city going on near 30+ years now and yet this stupid, tired cliche still has died. It didn’t die after most of the large manufacturers let West Philly/North Philly in the 60s/70s. It didn’t after the Navy Yard closed finally in 1995.
Is it a nonsense cliche?
Regardless of where the jobs are, being the manufacturing city has shaped Philadelphia’s psyche. It doesn’t matter that the jobs are gone – Philly is still a lunchpail town, even if most of the people in it aren’t industrial laborers.

Honestly,
As long as he Nnamdi, Asante, DRC, Hanson, Marsh, Lindley and Hughes and finds Good starters and 2 Nickel guy then I’m happy, hopefully we have Asante.
Then as long as he finds a SS and FS out of the Trio of Coleman, Nate Allen and Jarrett then we’ll be fine.
