The Linc - Todd Bowles On The Eagles Secondary
Bowles Offers His State Of The Secondary
New secondary coach Todd Bowles played his college football at Temple and as a veteran of eight seasons in the NFL as a defensive back with Washington and San Francisco, he epitomized the type of football player that the City of Philadelphia embraces.
Bowles' early look at the secondary
"You see a lot of athletes, you see some playmakers back there and you see some guys that can hit, so you see potential, you see potential but you just have to bring it all together," Bowles said.
Williams, McNabb Fade Away at Same Time: A Fan's Analysis - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
The Philadelphia Eagles have a mixed legacy with Donovan McNabb, which goes all the way back to the beginning. One of many past misdeeds that sticks to Eagles fans like myself is how McNabb was booed when he was drafted by Philadelphia in 1999, instead of record-setting Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams.
NFL owners keeping the customers happy
Shameless fan thank-yous have replaced shameless God thank-yous as the postgame pandering of choice. Savvy marketers have convinced sports teams that it pays to blow smoke at fans.

Plax for cheap?
Why not? Wheres the risk? I cant see him asking for too much after his past season..

Got bad knees and a high motor? Well cmon on over to PHILLY, we'll do our best to put you in the right position and do a better job!
Only if
he’s okay with coming here as a role player getting like a dozen snaps a game.
I personally don’t see that happening. And I feel like he’d be more of a negative influence on the locker room than a positive one. But if he’s got his head right, I do like the potential he brings to the Red Zone.
I think he could step in at the #1 spot and fill in for desean taking defenders away from everyone else. Keep Maclin at #2 even though he could be the #1 on most teams and we’re set.

No, no, no
Plaxico isn’t a #1 WR anymore.
You’re crazy if you think Plaxico is going to take more defenders away than Desean already does.
yeah, i think he'd be more negative too
didnt seem like he matured much after jail…
Correction
Bowles inherits a talented secondary that includes three Pro Bowl cornerbacks in Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and At safety, the Eagles have a young contingent that includes a pair of recent second-round picks in Nate Allen and Jaiquawn Jarrett as well as starting strong safety Kurt Coleman.Asante Samuel.

Exactly
It’s crazy to me to keep reading quotes of him talking about Asante as though he’s going to bethere next year. There’s seriously no chance in hell; as great of a player as he’s been, I’m ready for this guy to go

What's his contract like for this season?
If nobody is willing to trade for him, we might rather keep him than cut him? Especially if Bowles thinks he can handle The Three Stooges better than we did last year.
There's no way,
Asante is too valuable as a draft pick now, then a player. Maybe if one of our Pro-Bowl corners could play in the slot – which none can – it’d be a different story.
What is the team going to do with three exclusively outside CBs?

im not counting asante out
bowles may want to keep him… maybe that’s why he came. i’ll be surprised if he was still here, but you never know..
ricky williams could have meant the saints entire draft
people forget about that. if we had drafted ricky williams, we could have traded him for a ransom. ditka wasnt shy about saying that… plus i think he could still play if he wanted to..
