Quick Thought

Been occupying myself reading numerous mock drafts and what not and a lot of them have us going after the slightly bigger than DeSean Jackson but undersized Kendell Wright in the first, granted we don't resign DJax. Here's my quick thought...UHHHHH WHY? The guy had a monster season but he's literally version 2.0 of DJax with most likely lesser speed. Are the mock drafters just so desensitized to the Eagles reluctance to draft a playmaking LB or a big, physical receiver in the first round that they completely abandon all logic? Or is should i remove the veil from my eyes and see this would be a great pick? Gee whiz.

P.s. Bring it on Anthro. Let's see what you got for me this time.

Alright.

If the Eagles let DeSean go then we need a WR. My favorite of the group is Floyd — I see him as a Koren Robinson type where if he can overcome his off-the-field struggles he will be an absolute star in this league. Wright had a very good season, but I see him as being in the same mold as Santonio Holmes, not Jackson. He doesn’t have the explosive agility or top end speed that DeSean has. He’ll be good, but not the dynamic playmaker that DeSean is.

There, it’s been brought. Happy?

Agreed

Floyd has the most potential of the WR we’d be able to draft.

Good, wholesome argument. I would even have to agree that Floyd is the type of receiver that the Eagles need. Keep it up!!

Thank you.

And you do realize that this is exactly what I was doing in the other thread too, right? The only difference is that you didn’t agree with me there.

I mean the way i see it is that every team had to endure the lockout. The lockout is a poor excuse for why our defense was so soft. The Eagles were not the only team with a new DC that was restricted by the lockout. I mean damn, the Texans are a prime example of how a quality DC makes all the difference. Wade Phillips brought in a whole new defensive scheme into Houston, switching to a 3-4 from a 4-3. I believe this topic was brought up in another post as well, and it couldn’t stand more true than it does looking back on everything. I don’t believe Juan is cut out for the job as DC because he’s always had an offensive mindstate. Playing LB in college and being a DC in high school or whatever doesn’t qualify you for the big leagues. I just want the Eagles to attack their coaching staff like they did FA last season. WIN NOW. Andy does realize he’s on extremely thin ice right? Idk, i’m just frustrated but carefully optimistic that Juan can keep the momentum from the end of the season to the next.

Kendall Wright = Steve Smith (Carolina version)

Kendall Wright has blazing speed, probably similar to DeSean, but he is very physical and tough after the catch. He is such an intense player, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s my favorite WR prospect (note that I didn’t say best).

He's not the best.

I don’t think Wright is as fast as Desean but he’s close. I’d certainly welcome him if he got drafted. Imagine him and Desean on the field at the same time safeties wouldn’t know who to cover.

I'm great like Gatsby.

I personally am hoping DeSean goes, I have a horrible gut feeling about DeSean. I think whatever team signs him is seriously going to regret it.

I think he'll stop trying once he gets payed

But if him and Kendall are playing to their potential. We’d kill teams with the deep ball.

He’s my second fav behind Joe Adams.

Kendall Wright is not nearly as fast as Jackson or as good of a prospect

His stock went up with RGIII… he’s overrated.

Favorite Prospects: Martin, Burfict, Rainey, Curry

he’s overrated.

So then he is like Jackson.

I’m not totally sold on Kendall Wright at #15 yet (though I could see it happening, since the Eagles like elusive, speedy WRs). If we have to pick anyone at WR at number 15, I like Floyd. He seems like a pretty well-rounded wideout, comparable to someone like Boldin. I see Wright being more of a Percy Harvin-esque wideout with an ability to return kicks. Still not too bad.

No way... Maclin's our "possession guy" although he's got 4.4 speed

and Kendall brings a bit of physicality to the table.. Kendall and Maclin would be sick, add in Desean and I might jizz.

Defensive player of the year for 2011 is...

Wild_Eagle!

Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.

Joe Adams later is someone I really like

He brings the same game Jackson does but isn’t a pussy over the middle and will run routes correctly.

I like what I've read about Adams

I don’t watch much college football, so I’m not familiar with a lot of the players. I’ve read some reviews on Adams, and it seems like he’d be a good player to take in a later round. He returns kicks and punts, which is key if the Eagles let DeSean walk or if they keep him and want to give him a break. Do you think they can get Adams in the 4th round?

floyd is the best pick here

the guy is a beast he has great hands and size and still managed to put up great numbers with such a horrible scrub named tommy reis throwing him the football

its a shame, all these comments and were probably gonna draft a lineman

This x Infinity

Classic AR move would be to trade down to the mid 20’s and draft a DT or OT (after resigning 1Yard and signing a middle of the road, aging veteran MIKE during FA).

I always thought

That the Eagles should run more 4 WR sets anyway. We have enough talent to leave a secondary staggering. I would definitely welcome Wright into our offense even though its a questionable pick, and I do like Joe Adams alot but even more than Joe Adams, is Jarius Wright. He would be a beast of a slot receiver, he runs rather crisp routes from all the games i’ve watched him in, that’s somebody i wouldn’t mind picking up early second round with one of our 2 2nd rounders. Maclin, Avant, J.Wright, DJAX/K.Wright. Now that’s enough to make a defense quiver.
