I'd agree to fire Juan if...
Marty goes with him. For most of the day... no, for most of the year we've been hearing calls for Juan's head. Trust me, I completely understand. But lets look at the big picture for a minute. We've all heard the reasons why Juan should be fired, and why he should be given another chance. One of the biggest arguments is that the defense was put in a bad position. This I agree with. But It wasn't just about the turnovers. The offense was also put in a bad position.... alot. When you think about it you could use some of the same arguments for firing Marty as you do for Juan. And the same arguments for the problems on defense could be used for the offense.
Both the offense and the defense were given shortened offseasons to get ready. The defense had a new coordinator, new scheme, new pieces in the lineup that needed to gel. Juan was in his first year as a DC, with all this going against him, so some say that he should be given the benefit of the doubt. OK.. I get it. But what about the offense. They started the season with 3 new starters on the line, all learning a brand new blocking scheme. One veteran starting in a different position. Michael Vick may not have been at his best this year, but things weren't exactly easy on him either. Not only did he have to try to stay upright behind this pieced together line, he also had to learn to call his own protections. From supposedly not being able to identify to calling his own protection schemes with a rookie center in a shortened offseason. Maclin was sick up until the first game, and DeSean was just doing him for most of the year. And contrary to belief our WR depth isnt that good. Avant is good in the slot, but can't go outside. Riley Cooper scares no one. Everyone says that we were bad offensively in the Cardinals game because Jackson was out. Well yes and no. Once he was gone and Maclin got hurt, we had no playmakers at the WR position. Cooper was dropping balls left and right, and like I said Avant isn't good on the outside. Vick didn't have a chance. The teams who's offenses we wish we were.... they have 7 different guys catching passes easily. Damn, got off track. Sorry about the ranting...
Castillo made alot of mistakes in his coverages and schemes. People were used out of place, and used the wrong way. The same could also be said for the offense. Excellent press corners and we play zone = excellent running team and we pass. McCoy was underutilized this year. Now, before you say we run enough here me out. I'm talking situational running. 3rd down.. 4th quarter, that type of thing. It drives me crazy that we can't convert short yardage. Was it due to the blocking scheme? If I remember correctly we were bad at short yardage before Mudd showed up. Same thing with the redzone woes. Castillo can't stop other teams? Marty couldn't punch it in. And once again, we can't just blame this years team because this has been an issue for a while. Also lets not forget for a second some of the ridiculous playcalls we witnessed early in the year.
Goaline run play with no one blocking
Fake screen to blind screen int play
2 qb sneaks with injured qb, then run with rarely used fb
Goaline run/pass option
Thats just the tip of the iceburg. I understand that Nnamdi didnt play to his full potential, but neither did Jackson. His punt returns rarely helped the offense gain decent field position. The same was the Eagles should have brought in more talent for the defense, they should have addressed the kick/punt return position. Look I know I may be rambling on here, and totally ditched the format I originally had in mind for this post , but my point is this. If your gonna use the offenses turnovers as an excuse for the defense getting of lightly, you have to realize that the same things that affected the offense affected the defense. At the same time guys who are calling for Juan to get fired need to realize that a VETERAN coach on the other side of the ball made many of the same mistakes. While many here are upset about the fact that we get Juan more year of this defense, I'm wondering what the offense will be like with More Mediocrity coaching them. More 3rd and 1 passes. More goal line stuffs. More red zone woes. More Meh.....

I’m not saying he can’t coordinate. I’m saying that our problems in certain areas have been around through different personnel, so the problem goes beyond the players. If we’re gonna assess blame we need to honestly take a look at all the things that went wrong this year, not just 4 th quarter collapses or turnovers. Marty needs to be called out for the things he did this year, just like Juan has been.

So you want to get rid of a guy who for the 3 previous years he continually
broke Franchise records for points scored, yardage etc…
Juan hasn’t been called out to much be the FO or Andy (through the media)… I’m sure everybody is getting shit on my Lurie and Banner.

Marty is a victim of the 90/10 rule
90% of the time, his game planning and play calling are average to above average.
10% of the time, his game planning and play calling are head-scratchingly awful.
The people who want Marty gone are the ones who get stuck on the 10% and discount or completely disregard the remaining 90%.
The problem with Marty is he doesn’t balance running and passing. He started doing well towards the end of the year

It was more of a situational thing. Why are we throwing the ball on third and 1?

That shit drives me crazy also...
But you need to realize we have a QB who can run, why not have him drop back and if he can make a quick sneak take it? or if a big play opens up down the field just let it rip?

drives me crazy too
but even with a qb who can run the ball its always a risk when he drops back 7 yards making that 1 yard we need not so easy anymore. this year was horrible for vick and i dont trust his arm at all anymore. last year it was crazy how accurate he was throwing the football. there were many catches this year that could have gone for longer YAC if he threw an accurate pass and the receiver didnt have to make a circus catch on his horrible throw
