Reality TV

This Eagles season is starting to resemble the Reality TV series Survivor. In Survivor the contestants need to win immunity challenges and perform to be safe from tribal counsel and voted of the island. Each Eagles games seems to be an immunity challenge for each of the Eagles players, and it is safe to say not one Eagle is safe at this point. Last week Jason Babin was voted off the perverbial island. His lack of sack and Ole' (pronounced OHHH LAYYY) rush defense made it impossible for him not to be shown the door. This week it looks like Jim Washburn didn't win the immunity challenge. This has been an ongoing thing this season. His defensive line went from first to almost worst. We had 50 sacks a season ago and 20 this year. Andy Reid and ownership have obviously started running out patience. Jim Washburn you have been asked to leave the island and rightfully so. Not only is your defensive line not getting pressure, but the wide 9 has left our rush defense completely exposed the past two seasons. Now the question becomes, who will tribal counsel see fit to vote out in the weeks to come. I believe Andy Reid is now a forgone conclusion. If you watched the end of Cowboys game it becomes very apparent Reid is not playing to win games. A draw play was called with a 3rd and very long. I wouldn't not mind if he was gone before then end of the season. I believe this eagles team would get a lot of potential coaching suitors. The earlier the job comes open the less chances of losing some of those suitors to a Cowboys coaching gig which would be pretty tempting. At this point, I also see Nnamdi and Coleman playing themselves into different uniforms by next season. As for Mike Vick, his torch has been extinguished since the end of the 2010 season. We need to start cutting dead weight and saving millions in cap space these last couple of weeks of the season and spilling over into the offseason.

Watching the Eagles this past week gives me alot of hope for the future. A backfield of Lesean McCoy and Bryce Brown is exciting to think about. If the Eagles get a healthy Jason Peters back and draft a solid tackle our line is immediately improved. Even with a terrible line our running backs have shown promise. I think we should also look at Tyler Eiffert or Zach Ertz at TE in the draft. A big redzone target at TE would help this offense out big time. I could also see us going defense in round 1 and 2 also. Manti Te'o and a safetylike Elam in round 2 would be nice if we don't go offense.

Just like most Reality TV, this season has been hard to watch. Lets hope next season's reality is an Eagle's superbowl.
