Head Coach-Mike McCoy (current OC of the Denver Broncos). McCoy is considered to be one of the top, young offensive minds in the game today. He also has a great track record with the various different QB's he has coached over the years (Delhomme, Moore, Orton, Tebow, and Manning).
Offensive Coordinator-Geep Chryst (current QB Coach for the San Francisco 49ers). Chryst and McCoy go back to their days in Carolina, where they were both offensive coaches for the Carolina Panthers. I feel that both men will work well together, especially in bringing along Nick Foles.
Defensive Coordinator-Mike Trgovac (current Defensive Line Coach of the Green Bay Packers). My top choice here would be Dennis Allen (Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders), but I think that Mark Davis will give him at least another season in Oakland. So, Mike Trgovac is my next top choice to run our defense. He has been deserving of another DC job for a while now, and he was a hot name last offseason. He was the DC in Carolina when McCoy was there, so reuniting the two makes plenty of sense.
Special Teams Coordinator-Keith Burns (current Assistant Special Teams Coach of the Denver Broncos). Burns has been part of John Fox's staff for a while now, and I beleive that he would up for the challenge of taking over the Special Teams with a bright, young coach like McCoy.
Players To Cut:
Key Players to Restructure/Re-Sign Contracts:
CB-Nnamdi Asomugha (restructure deal with less money, and if he doesn't accept it then we cut him)
CB-Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (4-5 year deal)
Free Agent Acquisitions:
QB-Matt Moore (Miami) *provides an adequate backup to Foles, and somebody who is very familiar with, both, McCoy and Chryst
DT-Henry Melton (Chicago) *a young, gifted DT who will pair with Cox to form one of the very best Interior Defensive Line Duos in the league.
SLB-Phillip Wheeler (Oakland) *a free agent Strongside Linebacker that is stout against the run, and can get after the QB. He has had a great season, and I believe that we can get him for a good price.
FS-Jairus Byrd (Buffalo) *the free agent darling for us in 2013, Byrd has all the intangibles that we have been looking for in a Safety since the days of Brian Dawkins. He, alons, will make Asomugha and DRC better players and will provide them the kind of security, in the defensive backfield, that they have been missing.
It is too early to talk about actual players that we "should" draft. I like to wait until, at the very least, after the Senior Bowl, however, I can say with certainty that our first-round selection should be spent on the top Offensive Tackle available (Joeckel, Lewman, Matthews, or Fisher). If we were able to trade down, get extra draft picks, and still get one of these names, I would be happy. WHatever happens, I believe that our second selection (whether in the first or second round) needs to be devoted to the very best Safety in the draft (Elam, Reid, Vaccaro, or Lester). With that being said, we need this player to be able to play the Strong Safety position, as Byrd is a Free Safety. From this point in the draft, I suggest we draft the best player available and continue to build depth on both sides of the ball/
