Hello guys. Its been a disappointing season, and I am looking forward to change.
Head Coach: Mike McCoy
Initially I was on the Chip Kelly train, but now I am really convinced with shooting for Mike McCoy, the OC of the Denver Broncos. What worries me with Chip Kelly is his game plan and incorporating Nick Foles into it, and his want for full power over draft, off season, and coaches. He is also just a college coach and has no NFL experience. The Oregon Ducks did not do very well against any of the elite college defenses, but rather used surprise and tricks to rack up points against weaker teams. Now Mike McCoy has a great resume in the NFL, and has been very successful as the OC of the Broncos. He has had to deal with many different quarterbacks (Manning, Tebow, Orton, Delhomme) and has yet found a way to succeed. In order to tailor his offense for Tebow, he used more spread and emphasized running game. They led the NFL in rushing last year. This year, using Manning, he has created a passing powerhouse that has put them into the playoffs. He maximized on the talent of Eric Decker and Thomas. His ability to adjust himself to different play styles AND do well in the NFL has convinced me that he deserves a chance to take our HC position.
Offensive Coordinator/Defensive Coordinator: Roseman and McCoy's respective choices.
- WR- Maclin is going to the slot position. His RAC skills and frame are ideal for slot. He is not tall enough for redzone duty and not strong enough to run block on the outside. Jackson is great, but small. We need someone to compliment him on the outside.
- OL- Center, Tackle, Guard
- QB- Someone to backup Foles or 3rd String
- LB- I feel that we need our third man in order to truly maximize potential of defense.
- CB- A good replacement/future starter
- S- Allen and Coleman suck hairy balls
- DL- Graham, Cox, Thronton, Cole, and Curry. Thats all we have for now. Not good enough.
Who do we release/trade?
Derek Landri (usless,old, and undersized)
Jason Avant (Sorry good friend, you're aging and not very productive)
D. Bell & King Dunlap
Clay Harbor (OK, but not great, better finds in FA or Draft)
Akeem Jordan (Jamar Chaney and C. Matthews are good backups)
I can't think of anyone else that should be released now :(
Who Should We Sign?
For OL I want to go after OT Jake Long or OT Ryan Clady. I feel that the pursuit for J. Peters helped us so much that doing the same for Long can help us too. Clady from Denver would like to follow his old OC McCoy and is just finishing his rookie year. Once we get either of these two, we can move Herremans to Guard (where he did well) and hopefully Peters can pick off where he left off last season.
For QB I would take Drew Stantom, the backup of the Colts. He is known for his good leadership skills and good arm. He is well qualified as a dependable backup, and if not we always have Edwards.
For Safety I really would like William Moore, saftey for the Falcons. He is a consistent tackler and pass defender, but his only only problem is that he got lots of injuries in his first three seasons, and is currently injured. This should give us a good backup, if not a great safety, similar to the Demeco Ryans situation.
For WR, Dwayne Bowe is a great choice. His experience, height, strength and willingness to run block will be great. He is getting older so that wil give us some leverage. Jackson, Maclin and Bowe, with Cooper as fourth WR and Johnson as spread option.
For DL, I say we go for DE Micheal Johnson from Cincinatti. We will be paying him a lot, but I think we will have lots of cap space for such a unique monster, who will be a force to be reckoned with opposite of Graham.
2013 NFL Draft
We have 3rd or 4th pick:
I want to to trade back to 10-18, and get two first rounders but if that is not possible,
First Round: Manti Teo: Premier defensive players that will make any defense better.
Second Round: Matt Elam- Excellent Hybrid Safety
If we do get another second rounder through some trade
Second Round- Lane Johnson - OT
Third Round- Will Davis- CB- A wonderful press corner, who needs to develop physicality. This can come with good coaching ( I hope) and he can become a very good CB.
Fourth Round: Ryan Otten-TE- under the radar tall TE. Very good downfield threat and good blocker.
The Rest I am not Very Sure
QB: Foles, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards
RB; LeSean McCoy, Bryce Brown, Dion Lewis
FB: Emil Igwenagu
TE: Brent Celek, Ryan Otten
OL: Jason Peters, Jake Long, Jason Kelce, Dallas Reynolds, Dennis Kelly, Danny Watkins, Todd Herremans, Evan Mathis, Jake Scott
DL: Fletcher Cox, Cullen Jenkins, Cedric Thornton, Trent Cole, Vinny Curry, Brandon Graham, Micheal Johnson
LB: Manti Teo, Demeco Ryans, Mychal Kendricks, Casey Matthews, Jamar Chaney
CB: DRC, Curtis Marsh, Brandon Boykin, Will Davis
S: William Moore, Colt Anderson, Matt Elam, Kurt Coleman (backup only)
K: Alex Henery
P: Mat McBriar, Jon Dorenbos
This roster plus or minus some players and draft players. I would really like this team! Hopefully this what happens. A powerful defense, good running game, and improved Foles should do wonders for us, led by former OC MIke McCoy.
