The only thing that will be uglier than the game play of the Philadelphia Eagles this monday night against the Carolina Panthers will be the reaction of the fans to another game of fumbles, interceptions, missed tackles and blocks, and an eagles defense that can't stop running water with a spigot and can't defend a pass better than orange warning cones.
I hope the cast and crew of Monday Night Football have prepared for background music to overcome the chorus line of boos and heckling that will surely be a constant throughout the game.
We will have a harbinger of "what's to come" if Gruden is broadcasting the game from the owner's booth while they hammer out a new "come coach this team for me Jon" contract.
Andy is a beaten man. He's lost a beloved son. His team is getting manhandled worse each and every week. Clearly no player is going to do anything about it... Our players are now routinely called "heartless" and "leaderless" by even repected veterans of Eagles teams from the past. If there is one wish I could make, it's that somehow we recognize Andy not for what this year is... but for how much his tenure has meant to Philadelphia football. Besides Dick Vermeil, Andy Reid has at least gotten the eagles to the SB. Yeah, the team sucks. Yeah, the team has no chance of winning. I just wish Andy heard from the philadelphia fans... just once... that we thank him for what he'd done for us. That would be a classy thing to do.
