Eagles Inactives: Michael Vick, Jason Avant Both Out

The Eagles inactives for this week's game against the Washington Redkins have been released and there are no surprises.

Michael Vick, Jason Avant, Mardy Gilyard, Chris Polk, Vinny Curry, Nate Menkin and Phillip Hunt are all inactive today in Washington.

There is one surprise, however, that is coming out just before kickoff. It appears that despite being active, Danny Watkins will NOT start today for the Eagles. That means Jake Scott, who was just signed this week, will start at right tacke. Dennis Kelly will start at right tackle.

The one question everyone will continue to ask until it happens is: Why is Vinny Curry continuing not to dress? Plenty of it has to do with the fact that the Eagles are so deep at the defensive line, but given the lack of production, you would think the team would give the 2nd round pick a chance. Even Jaiquawn Jarrett got on the field as a 2nd round pick.

No one talked about it this week, but not having Jason Avant today is a big blow to Nick Foles. Avant has the best hands on this team and has always been there for Michael Vick on 3rd downs. Look for Brent Celek to possibly be targeted more with Avant out.
