Michael Vick injury: Eagles QB out for game with a concussion

Stay connected for news and updates

Michael Vick's afternoon is officially done after the Eagles QB was diagnosed with a concussion. Rookie 3rd round pick Nick Foles has taken over in his place.

Vick was knocked down on a fairly innocuous looking play, but his helmet appeared to hit the turf and reportedly knocked him in the eye. FOX sideline reporter Pam Oliver says he actually lost vision in his right eye for a short time. The Eagles decided to take him to the locker room for vision and concussion tests.

Just moments ago, the Eagles announced that VIck has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out for the remainder of the game.

In his place, rookie Nick Foles entered the game to a big ovation from the Lincoln Financial Field crowd. His first series, however, ended up as a 3 and out.

Vick has been having a productive afternoon. He's 6-9 for 70 yards and a TD so far. Late in the 2nd quarter the Eagles and Cowboys are tied at 7.
