Gunn: Eagles' Celek is toughest TE in NFL
Brent Celek battled through injuries all season long for the Eagles without once mentioning them. This just proves how tough the tight end really is.
If the Eagles franchise DeSean... | Philly | 01/06/2012
After making a decision on his defensive coordinator and coaching staff, Andy Reid's next order of business should be figuring out what to do with DeSean Jackson.

Celek is a tough guy, old school TE that refuses to go down
plus he has a decent MMA wife

Re this year's WR FA class:
If I could chose, my personal wishlist would look like this:
1. Mike Wallace
2. Dwayne Bowe
3. Desean Jackson
4. Stevie Johnson
5. Vincent Jackson
6. Marques Colston
7. Pierre Garcon
8. Wes Welker
9. Plaxico Burress
10. Reggie Wayne
11. Anthony Gonzales
This is purely a wish list
Not taking any possible franchise tags into account. Mike Wallace is a restricted free agent any way. But one can dream, right?!
Great list
But I agree wes welker is too low. Honestly I rather have Vincent Jackson over Desean too.

We don't need another slot receiver (welker),
And I don’t know if VJ is an upgrade over DJ since he’s had injury issues and character issues in the past.
from the NYT article
One-third of the way into his 45-minute soliloquy, it became clear that Lurie was simply venting. Reid will return, General Manager Howie Roseman — the architect of the failed Dream Team — will return, and because Reid has always refused to take the hatchet-a-coordinator approach to professional scapegoating, the embattled defensive coordinator Luis Castillo is also likely to return.
nice to know that if the Eagles need a second baseman, our d-coordinator can fill in in a pinch

We need some size.
I would love to get Vincent Jackson or Dwayne Bowe.. Jackson is a nice player but one of the reasons why we aren’t amazing in the red zone is because neither Jackson or Maclin are particuarly good for out battling for a ball or using their bodies to make the tough catch.
JoeD AKA The Voice Of Reason
Meh hes still a smalliish guy
and even coming out of college his knack was he needed to use his body to win more balls in tight throws… He hasn’t shown he can do that yet either… Maclin needs to turn the corner and become an elite WR like he was s upposed to be
JoeD AKA The Voice Of Reason
Maclin is good in the Redzone for his size
But he’s not the big WR that we’d all like. He’s what, 5’-11 or 6’-0", getting someone 6’-3" would be huge. I’d love to have Vincent Jackson or Bowe on our team. it would be a huge difference in the RZ!
Why would the Chiefs let Bowe go though? Doesn’t make much sense from their standpoint.

Captain Morgan..........
It's never easy being an Eagle fan........but I'll be damned if I ever stop.

Most of the WR options listed in the first link are either a) not likely to be better than Jackson or b) not likely to be available.
The only 2 options that I see as likely to be on the market and on par with DeSean production wise are Colston and VJax, but Jackson just turned 25 while Colston is 28 and Jackson is 29. I think it would make sense to keep DeSean.

Keeping Djax
would be the smartest move this org has done all season. If they let him walk, welcome to season 2011 all over again
i say franchise and trade djax. i think the offense needs toughness — they have people with that heart in them, but desean’s style of play and attitude doesnt bring that toughness out of them. in other words, yes he is a cornerpiece, but it’s probably not the best use of his value to give him a fat contract. trade him, promote avant and cooper, and draft a receiver.
Colton
Is the most likely to be available seeing how they share the ball in NO. Not sure they resign him after the big contract they give drew breezy. I would love him in the redzone. I say keep djax and get Riley cooper more involved in the RZ.

WalterFootball projects Michael Floyd at #15 to the Eagles
in his latest mock draft. If the Eagles can’t agree to terms with DeSean Jackson or obtain Marques Colston, this could be a very realistic pick. We all know Andy’s reservations in drafting LBs, and he might wait until after the first round and/or try to obtain a couple veterans in trades and free agency.
