and the fans are calling this a garbage season...

In a season where we signed one the the best cornerbacks of the last decade, had a secondary that should have been lockdown across the board, had an offense that couldn’t hold onto the ball to save their life, a defense that allowed 5 4th quarter collapses, and a season where we were suppose to be making a superbowl run and didn’t even make it in the playoffs….I think its safe to say this season was garbage.

I understand you trying to find the silver lining in all of the mass hatred and negativity in BGN lately. I really do. But this one is a reach. I hate the cowboys with an undying passion. I can’t stand them. I hate them far more than any team in the NFL. But I would trade sweeping the Cowboys for a competent season. We barely finished the season .500 and we fell way short of expectations we set for ourselves and where we should have been.

you want to recheck those facts and figures? Our offense scored a sum total of 3 points in those 5 4th quarter collapses.

Not per game… TOTAL.
Now, how many great defense win games when the offense scores 3 points in 5 quarters?

Losing to the sea chickens negates any win over an equally trashy Dallas team.

Scratch that, we got our ass’s kicked by the sea chickens. Yeah write that down too.

um... I hate to mention this...

but that “sea chickens” game was a cross country short week. It was so harsh on the eagles, that the NFL has subsequently ruled that they will not allow short week games be played coast to coast.

“Charley Casserly of CBS sports is reporting that the NFL will eliminate coast to coast travel for teams playing Thursday night games next season. Thursday night travel-look for NFL to eliminate teams flying coast to coast, limiting Thursday night travel to ONLY one time zone difference. So the Eagles won’t have to fly to Seattle and for a game with four days rest again? Gee thanks NFL. Just in time with that common sense idea! "

Fine scratch that.

We lost to another crap ass team in that division: the cardinals. If Steven Jackson doesn’t get injured on the second run play of the game we would have lost that game too.
