Desean trade options...

So the forum is kinda boring and bare so I decided to post a forum about a big question in the offseason, Will Desean be an Eagle? Im going to jump to conclusin and say we Franchise him and look to trade for a tall wideout. With Deseans skill set we should get a first, but with his attitude that holds us back for a 1st. So here are some options where we could trade Desean to and for what?

1st Trade him to the Saints with a second for M. Colston. Desean is fast and would be a nice fit in New Orleans with Meachem, Moore, and Graham. He would bring speed down the field that they dont have, also Colston would bring us a red zone threat that we could use and a guy who could go for the ball.

2nd we could trade Desean are 1st and a 2nd this year for the Rams #2 to go for Blackmon. It is possible, the Rams are getting a guy who can go down the field, and its a team need. The Eagles are getting a guy with the caliber as Calvin Johnson JR.

3rd we trade Desean to Kansas city for Dwayne Bowe. KC will be looking to part ways with him having Johnathan Baldwin, so they will want a guy who has speed .

Would rather trade him for a second straight up to a team like Jacksonville, and draft alshon Jeffrey or Michael Floyd in the first, since keuchly will probably be off the board

That is another good posibility

Bowe and DeseN are both FAs. A trade isn’t necessary.

Colston too.

Bowe, DeSean, and Colston are all FAs. I expect Bowe to be resigned (they would be fucking stupid not two resign him), Colston may be looking for some big money since he has way out performed his contract at the Saints (he would be my pick depending on the price), Vincent Jackson could be out there, but he’s crazy if he’s still expecting Marshall money.

with sign and trades?

Desean is desean

and I think that he will stay with the eagles, but if worst comes to worst, then we may have to trade him for some building blocks for the future.

Keep DeSean

Cause were not gonna get Blackmon and none of those other rookies can step in and replace his production. Not even Alshon, who I think is the shit. Not too mention if we have to spend a 1st round pick on a WR we cant pick a MLB, which is by far our teams biggest need.

Fuck Dwyane Bowe, hes not nearly as good. If we could sign Colston I’d love it, but not to replace DeSean

Were gonna keep DeSean, deal with his shit and probably overpay him because Shady McCoy and Brent Celek like seeing the safeties 20 yards off the line every play, and because its time to win now in 2012.

by dstern77 on Jan 3, 2012 1:40 PM EST reply actions

Also I think DeSean, a first and a second is way too much for Blackmon. I like him a lot but I dont likes hes Calvin, not even quite AJ Green or Julio Jones. I dont think any WR in this draft is

That’s what I’ve been gathering from the posts

by The Mad Hopper on Jan 4, 2012 9:36 AM EST up reply actions

Not the way it usually works out

I was hoping to do a post called “Expected Departures” with players that I expected to leave over the offseason and where I thought they might end up, but for a player like DeSean there are a lot of places he could go. It’s not logical though to expect him to be traded for another WR – player for player trades at the same position are pretty rare in the NFL these days.
That being said, I expect he won’t stay around, because even though he apologized for how he handled his contract situation, it’s still going to be Rosenhaus handling the situation during the off-season, and DeSean will probably make the same mistake as so many other WR’s: not satisfied with his current team’s offer, test the waters of free agency and end up signing with another team for less than he was offered in the first place.
I expect he’ll go someplace where he’ll be paired up with an already present elite receiver to make a scary 1-2 punch. My pick is Detroit (Megatron and DeSean? Yikes!), but Arizona and Carolina are other possibilities. Or he might go somewhere that there are several good but no outstanding receivers, like Chicago or Oakland.

Yes, that is a possibility

Although I’m not sure Tom Brady wants a receiver with a lazy reputation

With Andy, anything's possible.

Brown/ Harrison trade?
Bell for Harrison?

Not saying he will make an even trade, but there is precedent.

point taken, but minor trades (of bit players)

Can he be traded? Contract is up, they need to franchise tag him, once they do that can they trade him. I’m thinking DeSean walks or he is tagged. If he is traded with no contract in place the eagles get very little for him.

by Mtn-Green on Jan 3, 2012 2:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions

if they franchise him why wouldnt they just pay him what he was asking

by randall12 on Jan 3, 2012 2:21 PM EST up reply actions

Because he wants a long term deal, and they have not agreed to it yet. The tag would buy them more time to come up with a long term deal.

Go Eagles!

Its going to be very intresting this offseason.

Dwayne Bowe isn't that great

someone around here must still have acces to the trade chart. These values don’t seem to jive with what the chart would say. But don’t quote me on that.

At least one more year of Andy and Juan. If they don't win it all they both better be gone!

by MightyJoeBanner on Jan 4, 2012 8:18 AM EST reply actions

Ok Ok Ok

I guess no one has listened to me at all with this but here we go again. We keep Desean for at least 1 more year by tagging him. If we get someone to trade for him great if not we get another year and he gets some money so he is happy. We get our defensive needs in the early rounds and then 4th or 5th rd draft Junior Hemingway. This guy is a senior coming out of Michigan, Had another big game last night and we can get him late. He runs a 4.5 – 40, he is 6’2" 225lbs and knows how to grab the ball away from people. Junior Hemingway can be a steal and of course after his big game last night in the sugar bowl his stock may have just moved up to a 2nd or 3rd round. He is a sleeper no body is watching. He could be our future WR to stand beside Maclin.

by DcEagles29 on Jan 4, 2012 9:44 AM EST reply actions

I don’t know Hemingway, but I like the idea of tagging DeSean while drafting another possible future stud WR. I want to give DeSean another chance, but we gotta at least know it’s a possibility that his recent maturity won’t last.
