To put it nicely...
I do hope that they franchise Jackson. This way we either sign him to a deal that makes sense to the organizaton (7 million a year), or we trade him and get player/s and/or draft picks for him. We do not want to let him walk away for nothing.
As for Burfict, I would rather take the risk on his 1st round talent potential over two 2nd round talents (to put it nicely).

HE still has one more year on his contract doesnt he?
Why give him the Franchise tag money. He isnt worth that much.

Ok still
Let him go then. Some idiot team will throw a stupid amount of money at him and he wont be our problem

But an idiot team is precisely the reason we should tag him, as there will likely be a team that will not only throw a stupid amount of money at him, but be willing to part with a 2nd rounder as well.

Burfict will probably fall to the 2nd round pick. We don’t need to trade the 2nd rounders, we can use one of those to take him, if we really feel like gambling. He just does not seem smart enough for this defense. He’ll be Ernie Sims 2.0.

You’re not over-paying if you look at the value you’ve gotten out of him as a 2nd round pick… I wouldn’t let him go at this point, at least would franchise and try to trade him.
I'm all-in for the 2012 season !
Dwight Howard is coming to Philly. Maybe. Probably not. But we can at least hope, that's all we have.

Pretty much every single player that has been franchised hasn’t been worth the money, that’s the entire point. You are overpaying for a short term deal. Players always want long contracts, so in order to get them to back off that demand, the franchise tag had to be exorbitant.

That trade w/ Pitt is AWFUL....
From not only a value standpoint, but a pick standpoint to boot…
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."
