The Giants aren't lucky....
But I swear to GOD every time this mediocre teams gets into the playoffs the stars absolutely F***ING align for them.
- 8 drops from the Green Bay team
- 3 fumbles from G.B.
- The last 4 games before the CG 4 SUPER long TDs that should've went for 10-15 yards, yet either Cruz or Nicks took it to the house
- A F****ING HAIL MARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 9ers game
- 3 easy ints
- Not one, but TWO muffed kicks. One leading to a TD, the other leading to the game winning FG.
I'm sure I missed a few more but I'm so infuriated I can't even think straight.
Granted they have played pretty good football, and they have been relatively mistake free football, but they don't deserve to be in the Super Bowl... Oh Wait, they didn't deserve to be in the SB in 2007.
All I have to say is if they win the Super Bowl, I'm not watching anything football related for a LONG, LONG time.
Here's to Tom Brady getting his 4th ring and getting his revenge on this pathetic team.
FUCK NEW YORK

You forgot Bradshaw’s fumble where the refs decided forward progress was stopped, disregarding the fact that the ball was out before the whistle, which was way early.

So
falling backwards is not indicative of forward progress being halted? Interesting definition of the rule.
Victor Cruz is the 2011 Ahmad Bradshaw. He giveth, and he taketh away. Thankfully he is giving much more now.

You can be as naive as you want, it was an early whistle and the ball came out before it. If it happens in favor of the 49ers, you’re probably saying the same thing.
Just talkin about practice
by The Mad Hopper on Jan 23, 2012 12:36 AM EST up reply actions
have you figured out why,
if someone catches the ball and then the defender pushed him back 5yds, the offense get the ball, where he caught the ball. This happens every game and it is because of the forward progress rule, ie the play is dead, when the forward progress is finished. Every replay I have seen so far clearly shows that Bradshaw was going backwards, when he lost the ball, which means the play was dead prior to the fumble, it was the complete correct call
If the forward progress rule was not there, players would get carried back to their end zone on every play for a safety
Nobody is arguing that he was going forwards and not backwards
If you could read, you would see that I am saying Bradshaw fumbled the ball before the whistle blew the play dead, and that the whistle came very early. You trying to explain forward progress to everyone who isn’t arguing about his forward progress just makes you look stupid.

i know you're tryna be clever
but the call that you’re grasping straws for is actually in the grasp, which is not the same as forward progress. and either way, it was far from being called, because it wouldn’t have been accurate.
and what won us that super bowl was a complete team playing complete football. it took 58 minutes prior to that one play to decide that game.

Oh please
So anytime a guy falls backwards a fumble is impossible?
Follow Bleeding Green Nation on Twitter & Facebook.
bullshit
if he had broken out of the tackle and run for a touchdown and then had it called back due to foward progress you’d accuse the NFL of being rigged
he did not
and that is why the forward progress rule was applied, ie the play ends at the furthest point of forward progress
So any tackle where the person goes backwards at all
is automatically a dead ball the second he is hit? Because it’s not like Bradshaw was held up and pushed back; he fumbled pretty soon after being hit and it was pretty much all a part of the inital hit that sent him backwards
Also, where was the whistle then? It was well after the fumble.
you will need to watch the game again
Bradshaw has already gone backward for at least1/2 a yard and was actually bend over backward, when the ball came out.
Everyone, including those on 49ers board said that was the correct call, So I do not understand why the Eagles are complaining instead
Also you do not understand the Forward progress rule. This rule applies about 5-10 times in every game. How many time does the WR catch the ball, get hit by the defenders, then go backwards. The whistle does not come until much later.
When the Refs mark the spot, they marks it at the point of highest forward progress, the play is dead at the point where the player start going backward, not when the whistle is blew, the whistle is meaningless
Here's my understanding of the play
lets say someone gets tackles and is forced back. As he’s falling he fumbles, as did happen last night. I understand that forward progress means the ball would be spotted at the farthest point. However, it is also to my understanding that the play is not officially dead the moment he starts moving backwards. If he held onto it, forward progress would take effect. It makes no sense to me that just because Bradshaw was being tackled and falling back, the ball is dead and the player can fumble.
Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know the rules in and out, but I’m pretty sure just because someone is falling back it’s a dead ball.
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:13 PM EST up reply actions
Also the rule applies so much
because the WR will be down and then they can look at his most forward point. This is a different scenario since he fumbled before the play was over

that the Giants do not in fact get the benifits of the officiating. The Giants get TO’s taken away, even under review. The Giants have had ONE holding call in their favor in three playoff games. Don’t let facts ruin your bitter ravings.

Your entire super bowl run is BUILT on BAD OFFICIATING....
If the Giants do not get the Cruz call in Arizona, they do not make the playoffs, and are not playing in the Super Bowl in two weeks…So karma is a bitch, Giants fans need to stfu about bad calls..

I’m talking about the Giants FANS continous complaints about the calls that have gone against them. They have calls that have helped them in the past, HOW IS THAT NOT RELEVANT?? I don’t care about where the Giants are…they’re in the Super Bowl, and they’ve earned it, good for them….I didn’t complain about the Giants being where they are at all in my statement, I remarked on your whiny fans complaining about calls as they’ve done all year. You obviously don’t even know what my retort was about. I live in Bergen County, NJ…most of my friends/ppl i know are Giants fans….they all sound like whiny bitches every time a call doesn’t got their way.

take a laxative, chill. it’s football talk, no need to start capping.
my point is, i find it interesting how quick eagles fans try to bring up plays that were borderline from months ago to further their argument. this is not the first instance of the Victor Cruz non call being bought up to make a point. my point is, stop it. that play is dead. and btw, by the letter of the law, it was the correct call. Giants fans ‘bitching’ about a call yesterday shouldn’t muster up Victor Cruz v. Arizona talks. it’s just not relevant.

thank you for the concern…
The entire year isn’t over, it’s not like I’m bringing up a call from last year…or any other year from the past where the Giants benefitted from a call. The point is don’t complain about calls, when that’s the nature of the game, you’ve benefitted this year from bad calls yourselves…Win the game w/o complaining about the calls like it’s a conspiracy. Your fans never stfu about it. As soon as their is a bad call it’s all, “here we go again…root for the refs there the only ones that can beat us”…The fans can bring up bad calls all year, but you don’t want someone to say something about when your team benefitted from a bad call. Yeah, you seem to want your cake and to eat it too.
and btw, it was a judgment call, therefore by the “letter of the law”…there isn’t a correct call.. Just like the calls in the Packers game that went against the Giants.
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

c'mon son
every fanbase complains about every call made every Sunday. it’s how it is. i can open up any game thread on any Sunday this season, on any team’s page and find you 3 or 4 quoted complaints, quick. it’s what ppl do, it’s human nature. maybe you think we do it more, because as you said, you live amongst us, and naturally as a rival fan, you’ll hear more of it. that said, it’s totally inaccurate. we do it as much as Eagles fans do it, and they do it as much as Brown fans do it, and they do it as much as Oakland fans do it….etc.
and i’m not gonna revisit the Cruz call being right or wrong. it was the right call – but honestly, i hope they change that rule, as i’ve always been taught that if you put the ball on the ground and haven’t been touched, it’s a live ball. it made me sick to my stomach when it happened, but it went my teams way, so i was happy.

i dont give a rats ass if Giants want to complain about every call on their game thread
its not a freaken minor call when you are denied a touchdown when the replay shows it was a touchdown (reg season GB game)
if you lose a game by a freaken field goal every fan has a right to bitch about calls that cost a touchdown when everyone watching a national telivised game can clearly see the wrong call was made. if you’re gonna be cussing and sound so pissed off you should come with specific comments you’re all in a huff about. The fact is you’re complaining about something thats not even the freaken topic of this post- so you’re the jackass on the wrong page.

since you are having trouble putting the pieces together let me spell it out
Lucky bounces + bad calls = they earned the win
he brought it up to counter the claims that only good things happen for the Giants which allows them to win

does that response make sense to you?
who said anything about earning wins? since you can’t put the pieces together, don’t bother responding with nonsense. Your Giants have won games and lost games based on bad calls, stfu about calls when they’ve helped you as much as they’ve hurt you. There, welcome to the conversation, congrats on your team making it to the Super Bowl, now stfu if you don’t have anything to add…
I brought up that bad calls have helped the Giants win games too…so complaining about calls is a bit hypocritical…nothing to about the Giants being lucky or bounces….try again.

My response is to you pointing out one potential bad call that gave us a game
You said without that game, we aren’t in the playoffs and I was saying if EVERY call this season was called accurately we would have won at least one more game so our record would be the same, our opponents would be the same, and the result of us getting to the Super Bowl would be the same.
What we as Giant fans complain about is having to beat the team we are playing AND the refs during the Jets game and the Green Bay game in the playoffs. Eli gets murdered by late hits (much like Vick but for different reasons) and there are no calls, meanwhile Brady and Rodgers take a tough, LEGAL hit and flags are thrown everywhere.
One last thing…you’re saying getting the benefit of a call in week 4 means we can’t complain about officiating for the rest of season? That may be the stupidest thing anyone has every written anywhere, ever.
The Possimpible - Where the possible and impossible meet - Barney Stinson

No, still missing the point...
Not about just a call from week 4….calls go both ways, you win some and you lose some….I pointed out a game where the team benefited as a point that calls can go both ways so it’s a moot point complaining about them. Hence the karma comment, you understand what that is?

finally on the same page...
You’ve had a lot of shitty calls, save it for the ones that are UBER bad; such as the Jennings none fumble…we can all agree that was about as shitty a call as you can have go against you. Not every little thing, and especially not holding calls, as seen above.. It’s annoying that the games have become about the refs for Giants fans…“only the refs can beat us” mantra is old…. The Giants are a good enough team to win in spite of the calls against them, so if i was a Giant fan I wouldn’t care about the call, but only about the win.

I will admit
We Giant fans are probably VERY sensitive to bad calls since the first Green Bay game we had 4-5 go against us and screw us out of the win. Now, when we see one happen (especially early in a game), we can’t help but think, “Here we go again!”
That said, I am sure more than half of Giant fans were thinking we were going to get screwed out of the first 49ers turnover because it was taking them forever to get back to us. Like I said, we are expecting it now because of how bad that first Green Bay game was officiated.
It’s all in the past now and we could care less at this point, we are just focused now on the Super Bowl and bringing the Lombardi trophy back to the NFC East!!!

I would put money on it….First possible bad call on the Gmen in the Super Bowl, the fan next to you says some sort of “here we go again” or you think it immediately…. You guys have let the refs affect your minds too much. Thankfully for you guys, it looks like your team hasn’t.

I can’t even agree with this. I hate the Giants, Patriots, Steelers, and Cowboys so much. I can’t bring myself to root for any of them no even if they are going against one another.

Forced fumbles aren't luck
that shows a lack of basic football knowledge. Williams didn’t drop the ball all on his lonesome, it was knocked out by a fantastic defensive play. And the “Hail Mary” as you like to call it was a designed play to beat the corners who were cheating the sideline routes. Not really a “Hail Mary” when there are more receivers than defenders in the end zone. They deserve to be in the SB more than any other NFC team, but don’t let any facts ruin your bitter, bitter delusions. You’ll need them through the offseason.

So it wasnt “luck” that he made a boneheaded mistake to get to close to punt so it touched his knee? Also recovering a fumble is indeed about luck as its not a skill to recover a fumble, only to force it.

While we cant blame the win all on luck, we can definately agree that Eli Manning has the biggest nose of any quarterback since Koy Detmer. Seriously though, it was all luck to anyone who watched the game, the G-men couldnt move the ball for most of the game and there will be fansites dedicated to that guys knee.

You Eagle fans
can talk about luck all you want but it still does’nt change the fact that your team is at home and the Giants are now appearing in their 3rd SB in 12 years. Bleedinggreen nation is ’Green" with envy at that track record.
pretty ironic username you got there trolly mctrollerson. there’s no way u can ignore that the giants got waaaay more bounces their way than any team should. seriously, 2 passes so bad that multiple defenders had a lock on them…
but the eagles could be cleaning up these playoffs if they only blew 4 4th quarter leads this season so nothing to do but wait for the draft
by phillyorbust on Jan 23, 2012 2:20 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda
if the Eagles were a GOOD or GREAT team they would be here instead of us, but they are’nt. There’s nothing in this team’s recent history to suggest that they could make the SB. Yes the Eagles have dominated the G-men in the regular season in recent years, but I’ll take the SB appearances. You all can let the pain sting and play the What If game.
Sorry MrLuck
The Eagles already won their Superbowl in August, you will just have 1 each at best in 2 weeks
On the other hand, the Eagles would not clean up in these playoff, because they are not built like the Giants, While the Giants were 9-7 only, they also had the hardest schedule in the league and played teams like New England, Green Bay, New Orleans and San Francisco in the regular season). They played most of the year with many injures on players who made it back for the playoffs (Uemeiorya, Tuck, Backshaw.
So to say a Eagle team can do what the Giants do, is just in your imagination
What are you talking about a hay?
If you read the post I’m saying the Eagles CAN’T do what the Giants do. Read why don’t ya.
Just curious, last year Eli threw how many interceptions?
What was the major “excuse” of Giants fans regarding those interceptions?
Could it have been chance? Karma? Luck? Breaks?

I had a bad feeling when the Saints lost to the 49ers. I thought that the worst matchup for the Giants was to go to New Orleans. No offense to the 49ers, but I knew that a Giants – 49ers game was going to go down to the wire, where anything could happen. I knew after the Saints lost that the Giants would somehow found a way to win in Green Bay.

Joe come on man
Eli is playing OUT OF HIS MIND right now!!! Throwing guys open, buying time by manipulating the pocket, excellent on 3rd down and not turning the ball over. This team is built to make playoff runs
- have a physical run game.
- don’t turn the ball over
- cause turn overs
- have 2 play maker WR’s
- execute on 3rd down
- have one of the best Dlines
- corners can play man when needed to
IDC either way who wins the SB but I have a feeling the Gmen’s defense is too strong for the Pats.

Look at it from our perspective
everything looked so great heading into this year then:
we blow like 4 4th quarter leads. Just one win there would have put us in the playoffs
We have multiple glimmers of hope throughout the season only to lead to another let down
Our only actual strech of good games that made us think we could make the playoffs ended when Mark fucking sanchez shit the bed against you guys
You guys barely win a pretty bad division and make it to the Superbowl (I’ll give you credit for the past 2/3 games, but you have to admit you caught alot of breaks to get into the playoffs and Superbowl)
We’ve been harassed for like 5 straight months because our backup QB said a stupid little phrase that the media and other fans turned into every eagles player and fan believing they are the best in the league. Meanwhile, noone bats an eye when Eli Manning says he’s as good as Tom Brady, Rex Ryan guarantees another superbowl or espn says Eli is better than Peyton.
Even look at the games yesterday. Most eagles fans would agree that the Pats and giants were our 2 least favorite teams in both games. All any of us wanted was for JUST ONE of the other teams to win to avoid a crappy superbowl matchup (for us). But of course, the Pats barely win on a questionable call and missed kick, while the Giants caught some breaks too.
Any way you look at it, it’s been a ridiculously unfortunate and frustrating season for Eagles fans. There’s nothing left to do but hate
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:24 PM EST up reply actions
no one bats an eye, are you serious
that received so much media scrutiny – try not to be so blind sighted by your fandom
I agree that you guys and the team were treated unfairly with Vince Young’s stupid comment, but some one in the Eagles team should of stepped up and said something to denounce that label. – That never happened – in the end you guys became the butt of jokes, it sucks but it wasn’t the Giants fault you didn’t make the playoffs.
I don’t expect Eagle fans to be like come on Giants win it for the NFC East, but at the same time its silly for any sports fan to truly believe a team can be that freaken lucky.
"It is super important to come out right away and stuff it down people's throats and make them respect the run. We have Hakeem and Mario and Cruz and then they can get off as well. It starts with the running game always."

That happened multiple times
people were asked often if they were the dream team and they all said no. If my memory serves me correctly Andy Reid was one of them. And at the first point, maybe it got publicity , but absolutely nothing compared to how much we heard the dream team shit thrown back into our face.
Also, honestly I’ll give the Giants alot of credit. They played really good the past 4 or 5 games. It may come out like I’m saying everything has been the result of luck, but thats not what I truly believe. However, when the Giants fans on here make it seem like there has been no luck involved, like they caught no breaks in the game yesterday, I kind of have to argue.
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:35 PM EST up reply actions
alright I see I'm talking to a reasonable person so I'll give you this...
that punt that bounced and hit the returner on the leg – hell yeah that’s a lucky break – I don’t think there’s a Giants fan that believes our punter put some spin move on the ball to do that
that Eli pass where those 2 guys crashed into eachother, that could of been a pic for sure – we got a lucky break there
the bradshaw so called fumble – even if they could review it, i truly don’t believe it was a wrong call by the rules, but were we lucky the refs didn’t screw that call like they have in the other games, damn right we got lucky they did us right for once – (think about why they made that rule-forward progress) to stop players from mugging the other player while he’s being held or pulled down, thats exactly what happened there..
what else would you like me to admit about this game regarding the luck that only the Giants seem to possess in the NFL?

Enough to get drafted, make a team in the friggin’ NFL, contribute hundreds of yards a season, catch dozens of passes, score several TD’s, help a team win one SB, get to another, and get a multi-million dollar contract extension from a smart, ELITE franchise. You know better than all of them, yeah.

What can I say? I get along with Cowboy and Redskin fans and not Eagle fans. And I’m not alone in this. That is the general opinion of most BBV and BTB people.
I have had some good conversations with Eagle fans here, you included. Most notably when you guys were down this year and I came to say that I thought you had a great organization and will win again. But there are just SO MANY people here who talk crazy talk and/or are rude.

I myself have been here and had decent conversations, as I’ve stated. Maybe I just need to let what I term as delusional opinions go without commenting.
I think alot of this must stem from the MMII from last year. I joined BBV right around that time, though I didn’t go on much until after the season, so I didn’t participate in what I have heard were vicious internet fights followed by bannings all over the place.
The truth. The REAL voice of reason
Yeah, that was a bad moment, but people forget what lead up to it. People were trash talking all week, so its not like the BGNers just said “Hey, big win! Let’s troll BBV!” Wasn’t a smart move to go over there, but that game thread over here was full of BBVers gloating until the last few minutes of the game.
Every community has its idiots, and a lot more people become idiots when attacked, myself not excluded. BGN is no worse than any other blog, we just get attacked more than you guys thanks to our reputation. It makes a lot of members here rather chippy towards trolls.

don’t nit pick and say you have an argument. 316 yards 2 TD’s is a good game. Add to that he was hit 20 times I would argue yes he played great. Before yesterday he was killing it on 3rd down. Yesterday he played one of the best defenses in the NFL amped up and getting after him. So his numbers went down some.

Should have been 2 turnovers
it’s like when he threw a bunch of unlucky picks and giants fans said you can’t just look at the numbers. You can’t here either. He threw two balls that would have been easily picked if not for 49ers colliding into each other.
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:26 PM EST up reply actions
Not our fault
their job to catch them, you can’t fault Eli for what the defense didn’t do.
Eli managed the game yesterday, he didn’t win it. but he did what he had to do to keep us in the game. whether that meant taking another sack, just to save the possession. he did it.

It's just youre emphasizing that he had no turnovers while he should have had 2
It’s fair to look at what should have happened. Thats what every Giants fan did when he threw alot of picks and they all said the WR’s should have caught more passes.
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:39 PM EST up reply actions
but at the end of the day, the end result is the end result
so just like Eagle fans can always bring up the fact that Eli had 20 picks last year, that’s as fair as me bringing up that he had none last night.
it’s like, think about it, Eli threw a ball, slightly high, but one that Asante Samuel should’ve had in the SB. Yet it’s rarely mentioned, because of the end result. in the end, it didn’t matter as that individual did not take advantage of opportunity. Eli did, however, and the rest is history.

I think if Jaquan didn't force that fumble in OT
The Giants and Niners might still be playing.
And that is because Alex Smith is not great and couldn’t move the ball enough to score against a very good defense. And Eli, who is awesome, couldn’t move the ball enough to score against the best defense in the NFL.
The truth. The REAL voice of reason
yeah it was literally a stalemate

KB, you're in a feisty mood today
i’ll say this: for one, no one’s bragging. Joe_D came up with this post, not wilddre22, or ed valentine, or troy o. so all we’re doing is responding.
two, the reason we’re over here at all is because we are amazed at how out of 60 minutes(or more) of Giants football every week, y’all find one, maybe two “lucky” moments, disregarding the 90+ moments of skill surrounding it, and harp on the “luck” for the majority of your gamethreads. We are both amused, and amazed at the silliness of it all. to say that a team that’s rolled off 5 straight convincing wins(yesterday notwithstanding) including knocking off the number one(and defending champs), and number two seed on the road is lucky is either the rantings of functioning retards or people that are letting bitterness blind them. And it doesn’t end at BGN, because i’ve seen it on other sites too, but the fact that it’s so prevalent over here is ridiculous. So are we really bragging persay? or are we just defending? i guess you have to be the judge. all i’ll say is i hope come Sunday in two weeks i hope some of you here can look at the game objectively, win or lose by us.

Recd. Just summing up everything any Eagles fan who watched the Giants “playoff run” this year has to be feeling. Eli Manning through about 4 balls that should have been picked. Luckily for him 2 of those were SO ill-advised that not one but two defenders had an easy INT and they ran into each other. My friend whos a 49ers fan also pointed out that:
-The Giants last TD came on a 3rd and 15 play where they targeted the 49ers backup safety who was only playing because their starter got hurt in a huge collision with his own teammate on the first of Elis stupid, should-have-been-intercepted passes. Cant make this shit up. Fuck New York indeed

seriously...
between the 9ers players colliding several times, dropping gift picks and the SF Giants benefiting from Ian Kinsler’s ball that bounces off the top of the wall and somehow back into play…i’m starting to believe in this destiny shit
Eli gets so lucky.
Last year his 50-50 throws were all getting picked off.
This year somehow his shitty throws are never getting picked off.
Both Pats and Giants seem like teams destined to win. Everything has broken right for both of hte teams.
i would agree abt eli, last year if the ball was even tipped an inch, it wouldve been picked. this year, its dropped

what i find ironic
about all the lucky mofo – stars aligned bs you guys cry about

I know there isn’t that much for you guys to bring up as far as accomplishments but when you like to cry about a team being lucky mabe you shouldn’t be so proud about flaunting games that took a Mircale to win – I’m just saying.

the end play to begin with
when d-jacks dropped that ball, it could’ve squirted anywhere. but thanks to the luck of the bounce, it came back to him.
look, if you look hard enough you can find luck in every play. that’s all we’re saying, it’s more than luck. a team doesn’t win with one lucky play. it wins with the other 100+ plays that surrounded it.

There is luck in every play sure
but sometimes alot more involved. I don’t see how you can argue that Desean jackson fielding bouncing football is anything alike some of the breaks the GIants caught, such as the 49er’s special team’s giving the Giants 14 points.
I agree about the luck, we’re just trying to say the Giants have had quite a bit lately. And if you look above somewhere, I said that I give the Giants alot of credit other than luck. But giants fans seem to be refusing to admit that luck was involved in the game yesterday so I have to argue that
by KevinEagles on Jan 23, 2012 10:46 PM EST up reply actions
OK, i can talk to you
unlike some of your brethren, you are actually being a rationale football fan first, and Eagles fan second.
i’ve said this before, i’ll say it again – every good team has some luck involved in their game. there’s no denying it. luck is that one intangible, immeasurable unseen entity that rears it’s head; whether it be bad, or good, there is always luck, with every team. Injuries to me, is the biggest evidence of bad luck there is. why did JPP and Terrell Thomas collide, one play before halftime in a preseason game, where TT wouldn’t have played at all in the second half? but, due to bad luck, he tore one of his CLs and boom – IR.
The ref blowing his whistle just milliseconds before AB gets stripped – that can be looked at as luck.
then there are instances where i think the word luck is thrown around too much. like, say, the first muffed punt yesterday. that wasn’t luck; that was an idiot jock not knowing enough to evacuate the premises when a bouncing punt is near. luck would have been if he did actually get away from it, and it took a retarded 6 yard side bounce and found his body anyway. Same can be said for the second fumble. that wasn’t luck, that was one superior athlete getting the best of another superior athlete. the ‘luck’ came immediately after, when the ball bounced right into the waiting hands of Devin Thomas.
What we’re(the fans over here now) upset about is the idea that this team is where it is solely because of luck. i don’t know if you’re involved in game day threads KE, but if not, just take a gander at the last 3 involving us. every 4th post has the word “luck” thrown in it somewhere, willy nilly. how about crediting us as well? how about crediting a defense that held a whole group of wide receivers yesterday to 1 catch for 3 yards? how about crediting a defense who has held every team it’s faced in all it’s playoff games to 20 points and under? how about crediting our receivers for breaking off long run after long run, breaking tackles, and running past the rest? how about crediting our QB for having an elite season, and playoff? how about bringing up our bad luck, including Osi not picking up that fumble yesterday, or the refs calling an obvious fumble in the GB game a downed ball? or the phantom hit to the helmet that they called on Osi that day? both leading to TD drives, btw. how about bringing up all the bad luck calls we got, or didn’t get, that surely negate some of our ‘luck’?
luck is definitely part of our run, Giants fans are aware of that. but luck isn’t why we’re 60 minutes from holding up the lombardi. the sooner some Eagle fans recognize that, the sooner they’ll see less of us.

I agree with this pretty much
especially the last paragraph. I think most of us can agree with that. Luck has been a part of your run but you have played well too. Too many of us have been trying to argue all of your run has been luck and too many of you have been saying no luck has been involved. And yea I go to some of the gamethreads and I’m probably one of those people since I have no control over what comes out during the game. I usually get really worked up or angry and that comes out in my in-game comments. But now that the game is over and we’re looking back I can be more rationale.
Also realize that alot of the anger from Eagles fans is because of a season where literally everything that could have gone wrong has. it has been one of the most frustrating seasons you could imagine.

people have tunnel vision
1st point:
this thing called luck or bounce of the ball happens to both teams during every game – but when only one team wins everybody forgets about the lucky bounces the other team had- so when you just point out the things that went in favor of one team you make it sound like only they were blessed and the other team only had bad luck – thats tunnel vision – every fan is guilty of it – keep that in mind, analyze things that went well for the losing team too
2nd Point:
when you talk about the good bounces that helped the winning team its silly to think that if that didn’t happen then the winning team would not have won. a lot of the comments on here make it sound like that would be the case, the only time thats an accceptable conclusion is if the other teams loses a chance to score because of a badcall or missed field goal – then you can credit a team not losing to luck, but when we are talking about plays that scoring wasn’t involved its wrong to suggest otherwise – good teams take advantage of such instances and turn them into points – thats not the winning teams fault for knowing how to capitalize
"It is super important to come out right away and stuff it down people's throats and make them respect the run. We have Hakeem and Mario and Cruz and then they can get off as well. It starts with the running game always."

like I said
you are the ones that gave it the name
I could be a sore loser and point out a push to the back that knocked down 3 GMen which allowed DJ to run through (replay that youtube link), and cry like a baby that they were lucky not to get called on that push but for crying out loud how can I not give you guys respect for getting those late touchdowns and giving DJ a chance to run with good blocking – the point is You freaken won and it’s silly to key in on things that happen every day in football that’s part of the game
"It is super important to come out right away and stuff it down people's throats and make them respect the run. We have Hakeem and Mario and Cruz and then they can get off as well. It starts with the running game always."

Losers point to luck to discredit teams they don't like.
You won’t ever see me type that. And like Broadway Joe…. I guarantee it.
The truth. The REAL voice of reason
The Giants aren’t lucky… they just turn it on in the playoffs. This is a different team than we saw all year. The Giants, in the regular season, were flat out bad. they looked almost as bad as us, and we sucked this year. They under-performed all year but when the playoffs hit they stepped it up. Kudos. And as much as it hurts, go Pats.

I'll quote Joe_D here
The Giants aren’t lucky…. But I swear to GOD every time this mediocre teams gets into the playoffs the stars absolutely F***ING align for them.
Speaking only for myself this is how I feel. It’s the stars aligning thing, not necessarily luck. And I will differ from Joe and say that I think that the Giants are a good (not great) team. The stars aligning is a source of frustration for me because the Eagles have been close several times since 2000 and just haven’t had the stars align. Is there really that much of a difference between those good Eagles teams and the Giants in 2007, and this year? Maybe. Maybe not.
I think that the Giants got lucky with the Cruz call. That was a bad call and it was game over if the right call. Still that did not win the game for them, it just kept them alive. While Arizona was bitching and moaning about the play the Giants went for it and scored. Credit to the Giants there.
The other place where the Giants got lucky is not playing the Saints this past weekend. Saints in New Orleans was the worst matchup that the Giants could have faced. But hey, you play who is on the schedule.
All that other stuff, the drops by other teams, muffs, etc., I don’t consider lucky. That’s the other team’s fault. And I don’t have a problem with the Bradshaw forward progress non call.
This is an Eagles blog. Giants are a hated division rival. Giants really did not show much in the regular season that says that they were a far superior team than the Eagles, yet somehow at the end the stars have aligned and they are in the Super Bowl. Giants fans should be able to see how, given the last decade or so of football, this could be a source of frustration for Eagles fans.
Go Eagles!
Stars aligning is a bunch of bunk
Look at 08, Giants are rolling ready to reapeat, Plax decides to be a dumb ass and bring his gun to the club and shoots himself. Plax becomes a huge distraction to teamates and Giants loose focus. Eagles beat us in playoffs and go to NFC championsip game against the 9-7 Freakin Cardinals…. Eagles choke away stars aligning for them and loose to the Cardinals who go on the the Super Bowl…..
Eagles problem is not luck, it’s your coach who never seems to be able to seal the deal and get his team to rise up and win a tittle.
by Late for Dinner on Jan 24, 2012 1:50 PM EST up reply actions
Whatever. Cardinals had things going for them in ‘08, too. I didn’t say that the Giants got to the SB because they were lucky, and I didn’t say that the Eagles didn’t because they weren’t. You misread my post.
Go Eagles!
I know you didn't say that, I just don't buy into stars align argument at all
The Stars can align all they want but in the NFL playoffs sooner or later you are going to have to play some serious teams to get to the dance.
My point is what you call the stars aligning is really coaching and getting the players to believe in the team something Andy Reid has never been able to do. I am saying your lack of alignment is really poor coaching. Coaching is the reason a team that is 7-7 with 2 game left can suddenly come together and win in the playoffs. Caughlin did it in 07 and he is doing it again.
by Late for Dinner on Jan 24, 2012 2:39 PM EST up reply actions
Stars aligning is just a catch phrase.
Stars aligning can mean different things for different teams in any given season. But it all boils down to a team that is good enough to go on a run has alot more positive than negative things happening to them, wether it be a guy getting healthy, a coach making an adjustment, a team buying into what the coach is saying, the weather in a particular game, a QB coming of age, the list can be endless.
The truth. The REAL voice of reason
They had some luck in the 49ers game
But they whipped the Falcons and did the same to the Packers. Every team needs a bit of luck (and more importantly health) to get to the SB especially if they play in the Wildcard round.
The fact that so many Giants fans felt the need to comment on this means you guys kinda know you got lucky
this post was clearly made for us Eagles fans to get on and vent our frustrations and you guys are treating it like a real debate
well, it is mocking the gmen. if we had a post of how lucky you were if you were in the SB, you wouldnt be too happy either

No, but I wouldn’t go over to BBV and say how all Giants fans are mean, evil, etc, or that BBV is the nastiest site on SBNation.

Then they can ignore it and not come here. If there is such trash in here why bother with us. Just sayin’.

i guess you sorta have a point, but as sports fans we feel like we have to defend our team at all times
JPP for 2011 DPOY!
I get that. I really don’t stray from BGN so I don’t know how the other blogs are. What I can say is based on the people that come here from other blogs I think that there is a relatively similar percentage of a-holes in all of the blogs.
Go Eagles!
I converse with the fanbase of every team we face.
Some are cooler than others. Some are smarter than others. Some just type “Who Dat” all day. I’m sure it can change depending on who logs on to comment in a particular week and the state of the team.
I can also form opinions on a fanbase when I converse with them. And these opinions can change. Just sayin
The truth. The REAL voice of reason
Which blogs?
I’ve gotten along with a bunch of blogs before. I’ve talk with Lions, Niners, Texans, and some others fans during ’10 season. I also remember Colts fans came here liked us that year and Seahawks fans this year.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
"WHY IS THIS PINK-HAIRED BITCH A CAR?!"
No it means we all know Joe D is a colorful character
And although he can be a little rough around the edges he does write some pretty funny shit sometimes so his post’s are worth a read.

THE GIANTS AREN'T LUCKY, THERE FRONT OFFICE IS JUST BETTER THAN OURS (PERIOD)
I’ll take….
Nicks over Maclin and
JPP over Graham any day of the week. If you think Maclin is good than Nicks is borderline great, and will be.
Graham is a bust, i always said that, and im a Michigan fan.
Dont forget in both of those drafts we JUMPED up in front of the Giants just so they could get the better players at 2 positions.
JPP and Nicks will be regs in the pro bowl, while Maclin and Graham spend a lot of time on the sideline, injured.
After watching Crabtree stink it up out there last Sunday
You guys could have done a whole lot worse than Maclin, As far as Graham goes he might not be JPP, but give the kid a chance to come back from his knee surgery, that was a pretty serious surgery he had.

Keep it in-house
Air out your grievances on any other post, you don’t give Giants fans the satisfaction…This is basic stuff dude
Believe it or not,
There are a lot of fans in the NFC East that know their rivals roster and are cabable of having debates about other teams players without bias or stating that so and so sucks based on nothing but ones hatred of the other teams.
I think most Giant fans like Nicks better than Maclin, but at the same time know Maclin is a good reciever and Graham never got a chance to show what he can do becuase of injury, so you don’t have to hide in secret to have that discussion.

I posted this on another thread but it is so applicable here.
We are going to be seeing these idiots all the time until the SB. Its a sad life they live over on BBV and even have a whole Fanpost dedicated to trolling. The only and best thing you can do is ignore them like the petulant children they are. Being boastful and a sore winner is nothing short of being like a child and we just need to overlook them. It is a weak crutch that the Giants fans use to incite anger in us and get us to rise to the bait.
Just walk away from the weak individuals they are and are only the weaker as a collective groupthink. Just know when you walk away from the incessant trolling they have been doing since their win, that they are no better than what they say they hate and consider classless. The individuals that come here to do this are nothing but hypocrites to the core and instead of reveling in their win with like minded individuals they would much rather try to insult a fanbase for their petty pride. Those that come to a different site or forum to incessently troll it makes them no better than what they are trying to debase, though they are loathe to admit it.

Hopefully they understand that there will be about 25-100 BGNers that will have to be banned from BBV if they lose that game. Seriously, with the trolling on this post and EVERY SINGLE front page post? BBV is asking for it. Fuck it, i don’t have to root for the Patriots anymore — I can just root for karma, because it’s clearly against the Giants right now.

If the Giants
lose this came, it is going to be just helter skelter on BBV. Im just a little suprised that its a lot of the well respected posters like you say. I think its hilarious that so many always say Eagles fans are trolls and classless whenever we argue a point with them but I reeeeeeeeealy hope they are smart enough to see how hypocritcal they are.

You get that we are here cause:
1) you called us out pre-season, wrote checks that your team couldn’t cash for you
2) you wrote more checks when you thought we’d lose to Atlanta
3) you doubled down when we played the Packers
4) read the post above, it’s basically an invitation to Giants fans

As for the rest of it, you don’t see dozens of BGNers flying to every anti-Eagle post over there, because it really doesn’t matter. We usually keep to our own until you guys start this bullshit over here. I hadn’t been to BBV in months until the past couple of days. In fact, I pretty much only go there after BBVers start trolling over here. if you don’t like what we’ve got to say here, stay on BBV. Nobody’s forcing you to come over here and defend your fanhood.

Dude give me a break
Last year we had a guy write a satire on a chance meeting in the Store with an Eagles fan, and half of BGN was up in arms about like he was sersious, Jason B even got in on the action. So please get off the high horse because the behavior you see here plays out over on our board too.
You guys don’t stay to your own board, and neither do we, so what.

It's funny how time changes memories
You should make a list of the anti- Eagles fanposts on BBV, posts that get 100 comments, because I don’t remember a single one.
You come to BBV after we troll here. Let’s assume that’s true, have you considered that BBV folk come here after your guys troll at BBV. Making you just part of the cycle not an innocent.
But I really don’t think you get it at all.
This isn’t a private club, where you guys pay for the right to a members only behind the firewall, experience. BGN is part of SB Nation. Any one that wants to discuss this stuff is free to join up. This fanpost is essentially to discuss the New York Football Giants, not the Eagles. Why wouldn’t Giant fans feel like its appropriate to chime in.
Eli is our King!
You should make a list of the anti- Eagles fanposts on BBV, posts that get 100 comments, because I don’t remember a single one.
There’s one on your site right now with over 300 comments in the rec’d posts section.
Since this whole thing is based off of my “poor memory” and you can’t remember a post that went up 2 days ago, I don’t think you’ve got much of a leg to stand on.
And if we said half the shit you guys do here we’d get banned. I was warned for going there and asking people not to troll after a situation similar to this one. So much for not being a private club.

BBV has its set of rules, BGN has a different set
If people post the stuff that’s said here at BBV they are getting deep sixed. Giant fan, Eagle fan, lost soccer fan, you drop a few F bombs, and you engage in personal attacks, you’ll get a pink slip.
I engage in neither here or at BBV. It seems pointless to me.
(the thread you refer to above isn’t about the Eagles, it’s about how silly some of the posts ripping the Giants have been, it’s just a laugh, not a tear down of the Eagles)
Which leads me to … A post that’s about the Giants is going to attract Giants fans.
