Why the Eagles lost out on Spagnuolo
"Per Pompei, Spagnuolo's decision came down to the Eagles and the Saints. And the deciding factor was Drew Brees:
The Saints can thank Drew Brees for Steve Spagnuolo. The Saints’ new defensive coordinator had his choice of a number of jobs. Among the other teams that either were in hot pursuit or had expressed interest were the Eagles, Falcons, Colts, Bucs and Vikings. It came down to choosing between the Eagles and Saints, and Spags picked Brees over Michael Vick. Why? An offense that scores 38.5 points per game can make a defensive coordinator look pretty smart."

That's interesting...
…when you think that he technically isn’t even a Saint next year yet. This kind of headline sours me on him some. Sure, while we all know that last line is completely true, I want a coordinator with the confidence to know that regardless of what my offense does, I have the horses on defense and the scheme to stop the opponent.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
Well lets not kid ourselves Brees will be a Saint...
However since they might lose a couple important pieces on offense I don’t think they will put up as big of #s
I do agree with what you said though
The Legend
Yeah...I don't think for one second...
…that Brees will actually be anywhere else. Although, this is the year that the Indianapolis Colts are discussing the idea of trading Peyton Manning…so ANYTHING can happen.
It’s amazing that he would choose anywhere but here, to be honest. Not only would he inherit one of the most talented defenses, player for player, in the NFL. Also, he’d be the obvious heir-apparent for Andy because I’m not convinced Marty wants to be a HC again.

The same reason I took an interview...
…with Red Hat last week. Just because you are in a great situation and have no real plans on leaving doesn’t mean you shut down all your options. You always explore your options.

Marty has said a few times that he wants to be a HC again he just hasn’t gotten interviews because of what happened in Detroit.
As for Manning being traded no way that’s getting talked about if the Colts don’t get the #1 pick this year. You also have to remember he’s what 36 now? & coming off a serious neck injury
The Legend
Doesn't matter...
..the POINT is….they DID get the #1 pick and they ARE discussing it. And about his age, if I would have told you at 34 that they would be exploring the options in trading Peyton, would you have believed me?

No I wouldn’t have but when he was 34 I didn’t know he was going to have a serious neck injury if you had included that then I would of believed you
The Legend
I still wouldn't believe it.
Before last year, I would tell you that Peyton Manning will be the QB of the Indianapolis Colts for as long as he wants to be.

Maybe this
Will satiate d-jackfan10’s and others cries for understanding and insight into the Spags situation. And honestly, if that really was the reason, not feeling to excited abotu him anyway – though several have been suspecting that he chose the Saints because it might make him look better. The Eagles/Saints game next year is going to be an interesting one for this fanbase.
If Spags was considering the Eagles then
it means that the Eagles were considering Spags.
Or, to connect the dots, the Eagles were looking to replace Castillo ! Maybe that’s why Andy hasn’t announced anything, he was waiting on Spags decision, now maybe they’ll go in a different direction. I’m at least encouraged by that fact that they were considering Spags and didn’t outright think of staying with Castillo. There is still hope for us to rid ourselves of Castillo…
I'm all-in for the 2012 season !
Dwight Howard is coming to Philly. Maybe. Probably not. But we can at least hope, that's all we have.
He doesnt want to repeat what happen with McD last year

Reid had a press conference saying that McD was coming back and a couple of days later, fired him. It was kinda embarrasing PR wise and Reid dont want that to happen again
