The Linc - Is Brian Dawkins Done?

Brian Dawkins is definitely done, that neck injury is serious according to reports.

…it’s probably a healthy combination of the two.

Castillo is arguably the worst defensive coordinator in the NFL considering the extreme disconnect between the level of talent on the defense and the results. He is a disgrace.

However, Reid is a notoriously poor evaluator of talent. His team philosophy is also inconsistent with winning in that he drafts small, physically weak players who he believes will “try hard” enough to overcome extreme physical handicaps.

I think the right thing to do would be to sign Dawk to a one day contract a la Cunningham so that he can retire an Eagle.

“We were blessed to have a great rapport with our teammates,” Dawkins said. "They trusted us because they knew we would never tell them to do anything that we wouldn’t be willing to do. We would never tell them to cut out doing this, that and the other because they knew we would do it. We would always tell them to run into somebody full speed because they know we would do it. If we’re missing a tackle, we would let them know: I was wrong. I gotta make that play. There’s no excuse for that. They know we would be first to say that to them.

Dawkins needs to retire as an Eagle.

The King will probably go somewhere else where he can get more playing time

That guy was worth his weight in gold. The things he did for this team and the leadership he brought was just downright special. It would be amazing if he would somehow make it back for the Eagles as a secondary coach or assistant with the defense or anything. Unfortunately he has no plans of moving since he has family in Denver and it’s either he plays another year or he’s done. Thank you Hawkin Dawkins…we gon’ miss ya.

Come hell or high water, I’ll be there when he officially retires as an Eagle. He’ll retire an Eagle, have his number 20 retired, and he’ll go to the Hall as an Eagle. We love you, Weapon X!
