I had this thought, then just felt like I must be a homer. Sure, they went 9-7 and lost to the Redskins (twice, with grossman) and the Eagles (with Vince Young), but are they really awful?

Then I looked at the stats.

Total defense rank: 27th.

3-3 record in the worst division in football.

Losses to Vince Young and Rex Grossman (twice.

Point differential of NEGATIVE 6 for the season (Eagles were +68).

Two DOUBLE-DIGIT losses to the skins

Humiliating loss to the Saints

Miraculous fluke wins over Miami, Buffalo, New England, Dallas.

Double-digit loss to Seattle (I know, but still).

Worst playoff team ever? Maybe not. But I'm beyond certain that not only is the rest of the NFC thanking their lucky stars that the giants got in over the Eagles, but that these giants are epically disgraceful on a historical level.
