Vegas Has Eagles Favored Above Both NFC Title Game Squads For 2013
There have been some almost hilariously early 2013 Super Bowl odds hosted and the Eagles have been given better odds to win it than both of the teams set to play in the NFC title game this weekend.
1) Packers: 5 to 1
2) Saints: 6 to 1
3) Patriots: 8 to 1
t-4) Steelers: 12 to 1
t-4) Eagles: 12 to 1
t-4) Ravens: 12 to 1
t-7) Texans: 15 to 1
t-7) Chargers 15 to 1
t-9) Giants: 20 to 1
t-9) 49ers: 20 to 1
t-9) Cowboys: 20 to 1
t-9) Jets: 20 to 1
t-9) Falcons: 20 to 1
t-9) Lions: 20 to 1
Vegas really bought the Eagles all season as evidenced by the fact that they were favored in almost every game, even when they'd hit their bottom as far as record was concerned. Obviously that confidence didn't mean much...

Time to set my bets.
I’m not even going to wait for free agency or the draft.
"I once had a friend named Charlie, and Charlie was always late to school
He had a black eye one day, but he wouldn’t say just what happened to him
Charlie got mad in class one day, and stood up with a .22 pistol
Told everybody that he couldn’t take it anymore, he was over being the victim"
so...
they have the Eagles favored over the Texans… wow that’s dumb.
Also, I can get the Lions at 20-1? taken.

SUPERBOWLLLLLLL
what’s with the confidence level here? You guys already forget this absolutely abysmal season?
Prediction: the 3-4 will be out of style in two years.
So no, I will not shut up about stupidity.

Too early for these, at least wait until after FA and the draft

Hell.....
We can’t even manage to interview the right coaches. Someone explain how the Dolphins can interview Joe Philbin and the Colts interview Spags? Until we have the right coach chemistry, we won’t have the right “team” chemistry. Funny, I used to laugh at Tom Coughlin because I thought he was the antithesis of team chemistry with Rolle, Umeniorya, etc bashing him publicly. He sure could give ol’ Andrew some lessons. This offseason IS already starting off wrong; forget the Super Bowl

Why would the Eagles interview for coaching positions that aren’t vacant?
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

How would any of us know...
Who the Eagles are or are not interviewing? You assuming that they aren’t interviewing people just because it’s not being leaked and reported everywhere?
Why would the Eagles need to interview Spag? I mean AR could just get on the phone with him and talk with him. Interviews are done when you dont know the candidate.

The Eagles are favored every year. Still don’t understand why?? Oh yeah, Mike Vick. All you need is 8 games a year out of him and hope the rest of the division stinks and they too can be a champ at 9-7. Just ask the Giants, who are a better team overall than the Eagles.
I tend to agree, just based off of head-to-head records....
But do the Eagles beat the Packers last week? Probably not.

Where is Andy?
Why hasn’t Andy addressed the media for his end of year wrap-up? Doen’t he normally do that the week after the season ends? WTF GIVES? I am getting so sick of this guy.
it is odd
We aren’t interviewing anyone (that we know) yet he hasn’t come out and said Juan is staying…

Well
he might view that as non-newsworthy. You announce a firing, but if it’ll be status quo then there isn’t really anything to announce. It would just confirm that you’re sensitive to the hopes Juan would be fired and be a sign of weakness.

Spags
I heard a rumor Spags is going to the Saints
That still may be on the table.

Not Likely!
That is not going to happen as long as Andy Reid remains the coach. He should have been fired at the end of this season.
Saints* i mean. its a rumor though who knows

He owns the Vikings and the Saints!
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???

yea my take. If they know alot of people are going to bet on em (like the Eagles through out the season), the set the odds low to make sure they still make a profit.

I’ll take those odds. Eagles winning the Super Bowl is not that far fetched- especially with Juan coaching the defense.
And no, this isn’t sarcasm.
thats funny
i wonder if they took into account the boat load of FAs the Saints have…. Vegas! what salary cap?
I may not be the most noble of men but in a town of lepers, im the one with the most fingers.
Giant LB'zz SUCK!! Mark Herzlich, Jacquian Williams,...Maybe .. Sadly this has been modified.
Vegas is saying
That the Eagles have a 11 in 12 chance not to win the Super Bowl… yet everyone acts like they’ve placed some hugely misguided positive burden on us? I mean c’mon people.
I feel like you don't know how odds work.
Doesn’t matter who the best team in the league is. Since right now it’s the Packers, one could make the argument as well (“they say we wont win 4 out of 5 times….”). Whether the odds are 4 to 1 or 4000 to 1 ranking us 4th is pretty crazy and that’s the whole point.

I definitely know how it works...
Favored or not, 1 in 12 is not saying it’s likely. It’s just saying it’s more likely than 27 other teams making it. And why not? Look at the teams. But nevertheless, Ravens/Pit/Eagles… Saints, Packers, and Patriots are favored almost 2:1 over these other three. People need to keep things in context. Being fourth most favored (in a three way tie) is a lot different than saying “right behind” Green Bay or something. It’s a distant fourth in those terms.
odds are not about performance
It’s all about how people will vote. Eagles are one of the teams that people think can win the SB, true or false. It’s how Las Vegas calculates this.

2011 I've lost a few bucks....
Something to do with Eagles being the favorites, most of the guys I laid on the table, are Raidettes. Well it’s no surprised we’ve got them this year, I’m going pound for pound, right through the table. Ain’t no one laughing this time, cuz it ain’t goina be, I told u so! Long as we tweak the Defense a little and add to the depth and a solidified depth on the Offense….won’t be holding my breath, this time around. We had it all in 2011, and fans from a lot of the other NFL teams, envy our Defense to be theirs, they weren’t counting those mistakes. It was something we had, but the chemistry just wasn’t there at the start. So, Las Vegas stay off our radar for once, just let us be ’til the 1st half of the season is gone, for the only team that made top 10 in both Defense and Offense – thank you!

Vegas isn't stupid
Teams who finish strong (playoffs or not) have a high correlation of success the following year.
