Spags Watch: No Birds Move This Week | Eagletarian | 01/10/2012
Eagles coach Andy Reid hasn't scheduled his season wrapup news conference with reporters, and Reid is out of town all week, until Sunday. So the Eagles won't be hiring or firing any coordinator-level employees this week.
Iggles Blitz " Blog Archive " Washburn, the Wide-9, and the Future
Steve Spagnuolo believes in a 1-gap system, but he likes to mix in zone blitzing. The Wide-9 features the DL as rushers, not zone blitzing. The two ideas on the surface wouldn’t seem to work well together.

Eagle fans falling for NFL network’s bullshit yet again.
Spags or not...
If the wide 9 wins sacks but loses games, who needs it? The Eagles didn’t start winning until they cut back on the use of the wide 9 anyway.

Whatever altered system we're running now though...
Is pretty good. Allows pressure to come through to the QB without the commitment of a blitz. And I think with some LB’s, it’s a game winner as well.
Given that they never cut back on the Wide-9, that means you have no idea what you are talking about.
They players started playing better and the coaches started coaching better. It had nothing to to with changing the Wide-9.
Eagles: Season, but they'll be back with a vengeance next year. #KeepAndyReid
Flyers: On a nice roll
Phillies: Looking to next year
you don't know wtf your talking about
they tightened it up and used an “altered” version of it where the front four moved closer together so there wasn’t such gaping holes for the runners to hit right off the snap.

Right Phillyfan
Except for occasional 3rd and longs and definite passes. Then they lined up like they had at the beginning of the season.

This does not have any Eagle relevence
..unless the Lolskins get him.. but that still may not affect anything..
how is it not?
If the skins pick him up it would definitely suck seeing him twice a year for the next 10+ years!

11 years ago we were the LOLEagles and then they drafted one guy – Donovan McNabb. Then we weren’t the LOLEagles anymore. Yeah, I know, we didn’t win a Lombardi, but we sure won a lot of respect since then. One guy can turn the tide and get a team on track, making a huge difference in the play of the rest of the team – IF he’s the right guy.
What goes around comes around. One day we will be LOLEagles again and lolskins will once again be at the top of the NFC East. It’s a sad fact of life and just a question of when, not if.

One Guy?
Sure McNabb played his part, but credit to big red too.. and a few other cogs. All of which the skins are still missing.
Yup.
One guy can be a catalyst. A catalyst doesn’t cause a chemical reaction, it just enables it through it’s nature. One guy can be a role model. One guy can be someone for a team to rally around and, even if they were good as individuals before, they can become a better TEAM around him.
What happened to the Eagles D after Dawk left? The Colts after Peyton was injured? One guy can make a HUGE difference.
For the record, I’m not saying this guy is or is not that kind of leader. But this stuff does happen Sparki.
