Eagles Vs Giants War Of Words Begins: Tell 'Em Jason Kelce
Antrel Rolle also said "I've handled DeSean Jackson one on one before, don't see why I wouldn't be able to do it again." I would actually be interested to see exactly how many times the Giants matched up a safety one on one with DeSean Jackson. My guess is that Antrel Rolle has a different definition for what "one on one" means than the rest of the world does.

He does like to talk. He should be covering the slot receiver again this week, unless Fewell changes the scheme for you guys. I just hope a safety will be over the top to help with that speedy little bastid. :-)

We always complain about how our players get taken out of context or say stupid shit, but really I dont see what the big deal is about Rolle’s comment. Playing devils advocate here but he just said he covered him before. He didn’t go into great detail about how he shut his ass down or really talked any type of shit. how is he an idiot
what did he do wrong in the SS negotiations? did he not call Smith back when they called? did they not allow SS in the building?
look, he claimed how much he loved being a Giant, kept talking Giant this, Giant that, during the lockout. then out the blue, he switches allegiances. how do you think we should feel? and the players as well. plus he had $57 mil(i believe) sitting on the table for him before the lockout, and before the injuries. and he chose to leave it right there, on the table. how is that JR’s fault? should he have made it a cool $60 mil, was he being cheap with the extra $3M? did they slow play Smith, did they take there time in trying to get a good fair deal done with him? yes. did it backfire? yes. that’s what happens in negotiations. it’s like poker. you play your hand a certain way, and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. in this case, i have no problem with how JR played it. the man came off of microfracture. he’s not the same 100+ catch WR that we loved. so hell no you don’t offer this guy the world, especially since you don’t know what he’ll be right away.

"What did he do wrong?"
Well he only offered SS a 1 yr $1 million contract and told his agent that that was probably going to be the best they could do. (According to Mike Garafaolo on 94 WIP yesterday).
Of course the Giants are going to play it like they promised SS a better offer after he tested the open market. But there have been conflicting reports on that. SS obviously loved NY and his teammates prior to the contract debacle. I have a hard time believing he would leave if he believed the Giants would match the Eagles offer.
so hell no you don’t offer this guy the world, especially since you don’t know what he’ll be right away.
1 year $2 mill is not the world. Giants could’ve easily matched that if they were open with SS from the get-go.
It’s all water under the bridge now, but if I was a NY fan I would not be giving JR a pass. If this happened to Andy and Howie Roseman (i.e. Dawkins) I’d be effing pissed. Like Dawkins, SS did what was best for him. Not sure how you can kill him for that.
ok Smitty that's all well and good
but my thing is, why wouldn’t he have at least given them the oppty to match? 2 mil is nothing, and i believe if JR knew that if he didn’t match that, SS would go to a hated rival, he would’ve matched that offer. but he wasn’t given the oppty. how is that his fault?
SS was drafted, and raised a Giant. if he really loved this org., he could’ve been man enough to pick up the phone and said “hey Jay Arrah, here’s the deal.” that’s all we wanted. that’s why i don’t lay much blame at JR’s feet.

I believe that Smith was impressed and buoyed by the way the Eagles showed how they wanted him on the team.
I also believe that Smith could have easily seen the Giants’ actions with his status as strictly business.
How much “love” should a player recovering from a knee injury have for an organization that asks him to do them a favor by granting the right of matching an offer they didn’t see fit to make in the first place?
He seems like a decent guy, but if his attitude toward Reese was “stick it up your ass”, I would not blame him.

when you low-ball someone, and then come out saying you thought you would have the right to up your offer you turn out looking like an idiot. Especially when you said he wouldn’t be ready for a few weeks and he was there in week 1.
is that such a stretch to believe that?
SS has known nothing but blue his whole career. why wouldn’t we expect a courtesy call saying there’s this, so what do you want to do now? that makes it seem like SS was disingenious when claiming how much he loved being a Giant.
and the Giant org. is notorious for airing on the side of caution when it comes to injuries. we also have some of the best doctors in the world under our stead who makes final call on these injuries. if they say something to our FO and Coughlin, why wouldn’t they not believe it? and the fact that he’s caught 2 passes in 2 weeks shows me that the Giants were right in saying that he wouldn’t have been ready for week one. the difference is you guys are basically letting him work up to game speed on the fly; we would’ve had him rehabbing off the field and come in when he was as close to 100% as possible.

DOn't know about that
Fact is that Smith is lower on the depth chart and has much less familiarity with the offense. Had he been back in NY, he obviously would have had a much bigger role quicker since he already knew the offense. He barely played in that first game and saw his role expand in game #2. I would expect that trend to continue.
Plus, let’s not confuse what doctors say with what coaches and GMs say. You and I don’t know what the doctors said to the Giants. I think it’s safe to assume that whatever was leaked out to the media was mostly just negotiating tactics.
Who knows what the Giants’ docs had to say.
Follow Bleeding Green Nation on Twitter & Facebook. Did you get your copy of the 2011 Eagles Annual yet?
agree with your first point
not so much your second.
first, you’re prolly right about the familiarity issue. he’s prolly involved in more packages today than week one. but some of that has to be also because he wasn’t able to really get out on the practice field til late in the pre season. which goes back to how healthy was he really.
but i ask you this Jay, how healthy in your estimation would you say he is now? from what you’ve seen out there, and adding in the fact that he’s coming off such a major surgery. also, what was the circumstance that he caught those passes in? weren’t the Falcons in prevent basically at that point?
do you think it would’ve been more prudent for your org. to PUP him til week 7, since he was a non factor week one, and prolly is not helping his recovery now? i think the Eagles rushed him back as sort of an FU to us.
what realistically do you see him doing as an Eagle? will we see a game with him putting up 80+ yards, especially during the first half of the schedule? what’s the ceiling, what do you look at as a successful season for him? 30 catches? 40?
as to your second point, i don’t think our FO would’ve gained anything by fudging the medical reports to the media. how is that a good negotiating tactic? “Well we think he has a ways to go and won’t be ready that’s why we’re lowballing him”, meanwhile you know that the docs said he’ll be good in about 3 playing weeks. how’s that help you? if you know he’s healthy, you’re going to pay the man.

Dude
He’s healthy.
We’ve seen no sign of limping. No sign of “slowness” (for lack of a better word). SS was out there in a very limited role because of his spot on the depth chart and his lack of knowledge of the offense. The Eagles did not put him out there early as an “FU to the Giants.” They put him out there because he’s healthy and he’s better and more reliable than Riley Cooper. Plain and simple. If he proved he’s healthy in practices before the season, why would they put him on the PUP list? That’d be a waste.
And you asked what Jason considers a successful season for him. I think 20-30 catches is just fine. He’s more here as insurance for Desean and Maclin than he is to be a 70+ catch guy like Wes Welker or Davonne Bess.
he can't be that healthy if he only played 9 snaps in game one
learning curve or not, if you have a healthy, former 100 catch guy on your team, you get him out there and try to get him the ball.
there is no way he’s 100% from an offseason microfracture. i’d bet my life on it. i’m confident in my opinion that he’s working his way through any deficiencies on the field, instead of off the field like he prolly would’ve with us.

You shouldnt be feeling anything then
if you have full confidence in your FO. Look its a business dude, if your FO didnt value SS enough to give him a new contract of his liking/value, then he moves on and so should you. You shouldnt have any illwill towards him at all. Football players are employees, they are business man first, they are not fans of a particular team. It is ridiculous that anyone would feel angry at a player for making a living. I could understand being mad at your FO for undervaluing him, but if your happy with the FO, then you should careless about non-giant players and just keep supporting the players who are on your team. Its not like if he was demanding a trade to the Eagles…. you need to let it go man….

who said i was holding onto it?
trust me, i spend 0% of my day thinking about steve smith. the only time i do think of him is when his name is mentioned on a blog, or i see him in your uni.
that said, i can still not like certain players that are not on my team, doesn’t mean i’m harping on them. that makes me a fan; someone that roots for some, and doesn’t root for others. i don’t root for SS. that’s the fan in me. i’ll never root for B Dawk – he basically altered a man’s career. that’s deep rooted hate that ain’t going nowhere. but i think about B Dawk even less than i do Smith. that’s what fans do.
As for the business aspect, i agree totally that it’s a business, and there’s no allegiances. but i try to put things in perspective with how my life is lead. if i’ve been with a company for 5 or 10 years, and for the most part they’ve been good for me and my career, and then one day i get a call from another company looking to bring me on for more money, would i give a courtesy meeting to my higher ups and let them know, hey here’s the deal, what can you do for me? because as you said, it’s a business, but our money was just as green as yours. so why not give the company that you know and have done good things with that last chance to do good by you?

Common Courtesy
was in the same pile as the low ball offer the Giants gave him after that meeting. Ignoring the debate you and Jason are having… he was a FA, he met with NYG offices.. had a nice showing with them, worked out a bit.. did a little dance for them. Then they low balled him and spread the word that he was probably too injured to play until mid Oct.. in a bargaining attempt to get SS to hang his head low tuck his tail and come play for that low ball number. If he meant anything to them, they wouldn’t have treated him that way, nor would all those Giant fans that shat pure vitriol on his FB profile updates.
Steve had enough time in the long off season to see plenty of non-Giant PTs and work out and probably knew he felt better than the info the Giants were releasing on him. Kudos for him to shop around and find a better deal. Why would he care to go tell your FO that your rival gave a real offer when they laughed in his face? He was a FA technically not a Giant any more.. they’re not extending his contract, they’re re-signing him, which means they can’t play with the numbers just “knowing” that he’ll come back, like they can do with people like Osi… Steve’s gotta look out for Steve.
And that is the end of the argument… you lost steve… get over it.
by Sparki on Sep 21, 2011 2:49 PM EDT up reply actions 1 recs
end of what argument?
i’m not arguing. what i am saying is if SS was in the FA state of mind, he wouldn’t have been hanging around our complex, tweeting pro giant stuff in the offseason, and the like. he would have been fielding calls along with his agent, travelling and having meetings with other teams, and truly testing out the market. he didn’t. it was all but assumed that he would be back with us based on his off season actions, and then we wake up one day and he’s with our bitter rival? how would you feel about that?
and don’t give me the lowball theory. there was an offer on the table before all of the injuries for a hefty 5 year deal. he said he wanted to wait, and let his contract run out so he could get the big money. in the end, he burned himself by doing so, in now that he’s playing for 2 mil, instead of 57 mil, with whatever they would’ve guaranteed him. so in Steve looking out for Steve, he burned his own self in the process. how much money does he really think the Eagles will have waiting for him in the offseason if they deem him worthy? they already have a WR higher up on the food chain that’s thirsty. he sold his soul for an extra mil….that’s why we lost respect for him.
and the FB stuff was disgusting, but don’t add that to the discussion like we’re the only fanbase in the world that’s capable of that. if the shoe was on the other foot, don’t tell me that there wouldn’t be a few angry ass phans sitting in front of there comp in South Philly on there 8th yeungling spewing hatred as the day is long.
now the discussion is over.

You have no idea
what offer was made in that meeting or what was said. As Mike Garafaolo reported some believe that the Giants offered Steve a 1 yr $1M contract and said that would be their best offer. And as Sparki pointed out, they then proceeded to say to the media that Steve would likely be out until at least Oct. and he “had a long way to go.”
If you were Steve and you felt healthy and wanted to play and you wanted to make a good living, wouldn’t you go to the place who believes you can play right away and is giving you the most money. Unless you know for a fact that the Giants told Steve to come back to them with his best offer he received on the open market (and you don’t know that) then you can’t blame him.
i think at this point
we’re all assuming alot here. but i will say this. let’s say MG’s sources were right, and it was a 1mil contract. well he didn’t exactly break the bank in coming to the eagles. 2mil is alot to us, but for him it just means a little more in the gov’t and his agents pocket. that contract isn’t making or breaking him.
what he may have done tho, is burn a bridge that was well built in the 4 years of service with the same org. that reportedly had 57 mil on the table b4 the injuries started.
so lets say he took the deal we offered, played the season out, and had a decent after surgery showing. don’t you think the org. that groomed him, knows first hand what he’s capable of, and how he is with other teammates, would be more willing to take a chance on him after the season was up, than any outside team looking in? even if he has a decent showing with you guys, at the end of the day, your FO may say, well it was a nice season, but how much was it worth really? and like i said to sparki, there’s another WR on your team that ain’t too happy with his contract right now, and if the bank has to be broken, it will be for D-Jax, not SS11.
but at this point we’re speculating more than making solid points, so it’s whatever. i’ll be curious to see how he does sunday.

You are misrepresenting the situation.
SS was a Giant for 4 years, not 5-10.
It was time for the Giants to offer SS a contract or not. If you were a contract employee and got divorced, or got sick or something and your employer offered you 50% or less than another company did, and a lowball offer to boot, then what would you do?
You can say anything you like, but this setup is closer to the truth.

ok, 4 years, not 5
the point is, i’d at least come back to that company and say hey, such and such just offered me this, what do you want to do? if they stood pat on their number, then i’d shake hands and go on to new endeavors.
but not everyone is like me, and i understand that. my best friend(one of yours) got an offer after interviewing for a job with another company, that was substantially higher than at his current position. when we spoke about it, i asked him if he was gonna take it to his bosses to give them the oppty to match. he said no, and his reasoning was that if they felt he was worth that money, they’d already have raised his salary to such. i understand that reasoning, but that’s not how i’m wired. if you don’t mind where you work, then it’s courtesy to give them one last oppty to keep you.

nah, i think there was a certain amount of expectation from Matthews to live up to his name. Chaney was thought to be the starting Mike after Bradley was let go and he has been moved and has under-performed at his new position.
Just my opinion, but I thought these guys would have been at least decent. Not spectacular, but would fill the space. At this point, they are becoming the achilles heal of this defense, crippling our run game and unable to cover the TE adequately.
The Giants secondary, on the other hand, WERE stacked at the position, especially after their first round pick with Prince, but injuries have left them with voids that they cant seem to fill. And the fact they had to bench one of the remaining guys because he was getting burned so often, I’d say very disappointing.

To be honest to the point of me vomiting.
We have a 38.263% chance of winning this game.
Here are our advantages:
Lesean McCoy is a beast. I know. I have him on my fantasy team (more vomit). That being said, I think our run defense has the advantage (if only marginal). We held the other two teams we played in check quite easily. That means I have confidence that McCoy won’t break open the game, though I could see him being a nice producer this weekend. We’ve allowed 66.5 yds/game, and I think we could contain Vick/McCoy for around 120 total (which isn’t terrible in my mind). JPP and Linval Joseph are much better run stoppers than their predecessors.
Our DL vs OL. Aside from Jason Peters, who will take on JPP, I think Tuck can be successful vs Herremans. I think the biggest mismatch in our favor is Canty vs Kelce/Mathis. Canty and Linval have been nothing short of beastly this year.
Finally, I think if we commit to it hard enough, the run game has a chance to be successful against you guys. Y’all are ranked 30th versus the run on defense, so I think we have a chance to be successful there.
Unfortunately for us, you guys have two monstrous advantages.
Your WRs vs our CBs. To be fair to Aaron Ross, part of the problem was the fact that he was going up against bigger receivers as opposed to faster receivers. Ross has very poor body control so that was a mismatch from the beginning. Your receivers are smaller, so Ross matches up better. That doesn’t mean he’ll be successful. Your WR corps is far more talented, and I fully expect to vomit even further when Vick drops back to pass. Big, big problem for us.
The other advantage is when Eli drops back to pass. We don’t know if Manningham is good to go. If not, we got issues:
1) The CBs, obviously, are going to be ridiculously tough to throw against.
2) After seeing the ATL game, I’m concerned (understatement of the year) for Eli’s well being when the wide 9 Babin and Cole go up against our tackles.
The blueprint for us to win is simple. Time of Possession. Win that, and win it hard. We will not stop you people from scoring. So best thing is to keep you off the field. That means establish a run game (easier said than done against you guys in recent years). Eli can have some measure of success versus your LBs if he can sell the screen game well enough.
On defense, we MUST play to our strengths. Pass rush aggressively, but DO NOT overpursue. If we can maintain that discipline, it gives us the best chance we got to win.
Also, biggest advantage in our favor is that its a divisional matchup. Divisional games, ESPECIALLY NFC East games, are some of the wackiest, craziest, and weirdest games there, so I expect there to be a few headscratchers when we play.

Very good analysis.
For the most part, that is a very realistic outcome. Our run defense is suspect. I have not given up on it yet. We did well in the last part of the game against Atlanta. Except for that one that broke for 40 or 60 yrds, we kept Turner in check pretty well. I think the Giants have more depth at RB though and can sustain a healthier run game. And you nailed it, ball control, and TOP will be the key. If you guys can control it, the game is yours to lose. But if Eli starts throwing pics because of the pass rush, it could get ugly quick.
The only difference I take with your analysis, is McCoy and Vick running. I tend to group the screens in with the running game and if you guys blitz the way you do, the screens are going to kill you. We may be 30th in the run game, but we have to be one of the top screening teams.

The screen game is tricky. We've essentially shut down the screen game
the past two games….and Cadillac has been very successful with the screen in the past.
However, I know that the Eagles are probably the best team in the league at executing the screen, so I don’t know how it will turn out.

Two more cents...
I could see the Giants keeping Shady in check for most of the game, but then having him bust a long one for a TD, something like we saw in last years second meeting.
And Shady wasn’t the only back last year to be shut down for most of the game but then break one long run that hurts the Giants. Same thing happened with CJ2K.
I am concerned with stopping your WR’s in general, but (once again this year), I am VERY concerned about defending the middle of the field against not only your wideouts, but the TE’s. The holes in our D in the middle have been huge so far. But, there was some improvement in this area from week 1 to week 2.
On the speculative positive side for the Giants, I think we too, can exploit the middle of the field with our passing game. Ballard at TE is performing at least as well as Boss did for us last year, SO FAR. He is big and lumbering, so not a consistent threat to get open, but when he does he has very good hands and body control when locating and catching the ball.
We will run it at least as good as last week. The Giants ran for about 120 yards last week with a similar split in both carries and yards for both players. That should help with TOP.
We will get to your QB, no matter who it is. BBI’s points on this are enough.
I hope we see Vick on the field, but if I were an Eagle fan I wouldn’t mind him resting his nugget another week. Because as we know, every concussion makes the next one that much more possible.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.
NYG 23 STL 14
Actually we don’t know that. There is no data to suggest that one concussion makes another any more or less likely. That’s a common misconception.
And as far as this plan to “run the ball.” That’s the plan for everyone. It’s all about the game situation. If it’s close or the Giants are up, sure they’ll try to run the ball. But if the Eagles offense is scoring a lot, the Giants aren’t going to try and control the clock with the run.
Controlling the clock isn’t about running the ball. Well, it’s only half about that. The other half is about stopping the opposition when they have the ball. That’s something the Giants haven’t proven that that can do against the Eagles for years.
Follow Bleeding Green Nation on Twitter & Facebook. Did you get your copy of the 2011 Eagles Annual yet?
Ah, yes Jason, game situation will dictate how much we run the ball.
I certainly wouldn’t expect the Giants to try and shorten the game with long drives while running the ball if they are down 14-3 in the second quarter, for example.
And again, I agree, the Giants have had alot of trouble stopping the Eagles from scoring, so the part about controlling the clock from our defensive side will be difficult.
Going into the game, I would expect the Giants to have a clock management type of strategy. I hope they can maintain a lead, or keep it close, to make that game plan work.
And I will do some research about concussions to see if I have misconstrued a fact or non-fact about them.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.
NYG 27 PHI 24
That's EXACTLY what they should do
re:
I certainly wouldn’t expect the Giants to try and shorten the game with long drives while running the ball if they are down 14-3 in the second quarter, for example.
I always thought if I was a head coach I would institute “a 14-3 drill.” Intended to get the coaches used to playing from behind and being themselves.
When you get behind, that’s the time to buckle down and do what you do well. You need to put together a solid drive and make it 14-10, not go three-and-out and let the game get away from you.
One of the best wins I’ve ever seen was this D-III team from Texas whose whole m.o. was to run the ball until the other team was worn out come from 14 down at Mount Union (D-III powerhouse) and win. They scored 17 in the fourth by running running running and connecting a fourth-down TD pass.
If your whole idea is to run run run and wear the D down, as it is for the Giants, the worst thing they can do is to get away from that. Passing is like shooting threes in basketball, you might shoot yourself back into the game … or further out of it.
With our pass rush/CB combo and their talent on offense, running is going to be the Giants best bet almost no matter the game situation.

I see what you are saying, especially with the example score I gave of 14-3. Without getting too into speculative detail, I would stick with the run at 14-3 in the second quarter. Unfortunately, IMO, my OC would in that scenario. Too much evidence to the contrary.
Of course, if the Giants are not running the ball well at all, and prospects for the running game to improve seem slim, then I would start to throw it more. But we should have some success running against your boys.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.
NYG 27 PHI 24
Yes, you should
and I don’t think throwing when down 14-3 is a flawed scenario in every instance. I’m not totally against the idea of what you were saying.
But I wonder why teams often get away from what they are trying to establish so early, then look back at the end of the game and say “man, we really never established the run.”
Also, the run itself is supposed to have a cumulative effect of wearing defenses down so it’s wise to stick with it.
Especially against us, unless our magic shuffling LBs surprisingly do work this week

You are going to have to show me some evidence that having one concussion does not increase the likelihood of another.
I looked around, and for the most part, did not see any evidence given one way or another .
Except for within the Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology. There was a study cited where they stated that: “For unknown reasons, having one concussion significantly increases a persons risk of having another.” It went on to say, “Having previously sustained a sports concussion has been found to be a strong factor increasing the likelihood of a concussion in the future.”
Then I called my girlfriend who is a Nurse Practitioner. It seems there is disagreement on this where she works. She did not believe having one increased the likelihood of another, but a doctor who she asked this question THOUGHT it did, but he didn’t know for sure. He said there is disagreement on this.
So there you go. BTW, after reading what happens to the brain, how long it takes to heal, and how many go undiagnosed or under-diagnosed, even when getting a mild concussion, I would definitely want my QB to sit out one week. Or if it were me, I would wait.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.

Our current understanding of the brain is about equal to a child’s understanding of a roller coaster; it does stuff really fast, and when things go wrong, they go very wrong. The best that you are going to get are educated guesses.

Yeah, agreed.
For very unfortunate reasons I had to learn alot about the different parts of the brain, the endocrine system, and all that it controls this past summer.
And I still don’t know squat.
I’ll err on the side of caution and look to the players in the past, who once they got one concussion, seemed to get more.
If I am being negative please, don't let it fool you, I am an optimist at heart and I can prove it.

If the Giants can play ball control football and dont turnover the football (Eli and Bradshaw) they match up better then people think.
I also hope that if Vick plays that he will protect the ball better this week as you cannot turnover the football against division rivals.

Haha I love it.
I love when you guys try to spin SS like a “meh-kind-of-guy.” It’s not about what his numbers were on Sunday. It’s about the fact that he was physically able to play week 1, then increasingly more in week 2. And he contributed as a role player, as expected while the Giants expected him to be out until at least week 4-6.
Spin it how you want, but JR messed up on this one. Especially when Hixon is now out for the season and Manningham is concussed. You all would love to have SS now, wouldn’t you?
I'll eat my words when I see him actually produce worth a damn.
He was an incredible receiver for us. Who knows how microfracture surgery turns out in the long run. You aren’t the same.
We wanted SS all along. I’d love to have him then and I’d love to have him now. Doesn’t mean he’s capable of producing back to capable levels.

What he produces with the Eagles
should be no indication of what he could’ve produced with the Giants. He fit the Giants offense and now they have injuries. Right now SS is 4th on the depth chart at WR… and really he’s 6th on the “playmaker depth chart” behind guys like Shady and Celek.
He won’t put up anything close to the 100 receptions he once put up. He probably won’t even get 35 receptions. But it won’t be because he’s not capable of it. It’ll be because he’s behind too many other playmakers.
So you saying “I’ll eat my words when I see him actually produce worth a damn” is a joke.
Yeah Smith's numbers really won't indicate
how useful he is. There are too many other options on this team.
But the idea that Smith is “only” our 4th WR is actually what excites me. Besides the fact that at full health he might be better than Avant, the point is no team has four guys who can match up. If Smith and Avant can work the slot like they have over their careers, there could be games where either one of them have several catches.
Just on the idea that the third-best cover man is playing Steve Smith means if he’s himself, he should be an asset, if not a 100-catch player.
This could really be a legendary offense. 31 the first two games and not even at full strength. Not only are we looking a Vick, a premier athlete, and McCoy, a premier RB, we are looking at a nearly unprecedented threat when we spread teams out. This is better than being the Oilers in Tecmo Bowl. (remember Drew Hill, Haywood Jeffries, Moon & them?)

From what I’ve seen so far, I have really no reason to think he won’t be back near 100%. He seems to be playing more and more every week. Physically he seems quite good. I’m sure his problem now is fully grasping the Eagles offense. Obviously that wouldn’t have been a problem if he stayed in New York.
But he looked solid against Atlanta. He’s getting there.
