The loss last night hurt.... bad. I decided to get over it the best way I know how, by trying to make sense of it. One of the things that really caught my eye was the fact that it just seemed like there were a lot of times when there were defenders running free in the Eagles backfield. I decided to investigate to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. My first idea was to find the plays and dissect what actually went wrong. It finally got to the point where after 5 times I realized that this could become a really long project, and the wife and a newborn weren't gonna let that happen. By the time I got to halftime I realized that I was so frustrated by the repetitiveness of some of the problems that I just had no words and I was done watching.
Now, by this point in time, the idea had already firmly entrenched itself in my brain. I'm very stubborn and would not permit myself to just let all these notes and pictures go to waste. Instead of just completely abandoning the project I decided to just present it in a different, albeit lazy, light. I decided to tell the story of the enemies behind the line of scrimmage through the use of only pictures ( ok, maybe there will be a few words involved). So without further ado, I give you " The Offensive line: A picture story "
Kelce gets beat
Vick gets slammed
Kelce beat again
Fooled by a stunt
Celek gets beat
Can someone please block this guy
Devan gets murdered
The offensive line may not have given up any sacks, but they sure as hell gave up a good bit of pressures. Keep in mind, these were only the instances where guys were just blatantly beaten, or when guys weren't accounted for at all. And this was only the first half.
Update. Here's one I forgot to add. Also in the redzone.
