Well week 2 is in the books for us and its gonna be a loooong season. Going to the game this Sunday with Vick out is kinda the shot in the groin on top of it. But I digress, lets discuss exactly what lost us this game, turnovers. Now the defense needs to play better, but any successful NFL team is gonna be scored upon. With the high-octane style of the NFL these days, points are there for the taking. Our defense at times dominated last night, and they dominated enough for us to WIN the game. Turnovers killed us.
1. 17-7 down the drain. I love the multiple fakes after the snap. The fake to sweep and inside handoff were a great wrinkle thrown in their by the AR and MM to help gameplan. In general, the offensive gameplan was fantastic. Heres my gripe. We need to cut that crap out in the redzone. Its hard to get there and you know chances are the defense will dial it up in that situation. So, what happens, right guard misses his assignment and we have a huge impact turnover. I can deal with a fumble, but it changed the possession 60 yards downfield. Unacceptable. Simplify it. You don't need a play that takes too long to develop in the red zone. We have the athletes to create great one on one matchups.
2. Vick and his bag of bread. Out of the pocket he is the most dangerous weapon in the NFL. But, I don't know about you, I cringe for many reasons. The number one reason is injuries. The second, ball handling skills. He plays with fire every single time he runs with the football.
3. Vick's pick. Just a bad read with an equally bad throw. I can live with it.
Well thats it
