The Linc - Eagles Showing Some Clutchiness
Week 2 NFL Picks: Possible Contenders Face Must Wins - SB Nation Philly
Week two of the NFL season is always interesting because we've always got a number of teams that see themselves as contenders who are trying to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole.
Eagles Were Clutch on Sunday - SB Nation Philly
Last year the Eagles struggled at certain critical junctures in the game. How did the team do in those situations on Sunday? How important is that?

Ten-Point Stance: Sad truth is that end seems near for McNabb - NFL - CBSSports.com Football
Donovan McNabb has long been one of the most undervalued quarterbacks of his generation. He helped transform the Philadelphia Eagles into a Super Bowl team, and his combination of skill and athleticism made him one of the most riveting players to watch in recent NFL history. He was that good. So it's painful to write, because McNabb has long been one of my favorite players to watch and interview, but his career is coming to an inglorious end. And end is the operative word. McNabb looks done.

Tom Brady's tailgate comment wasn't given with malicious intent - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN
With a rash, maybe an epidemic, of crimes and problems stemming from bad fan behavior, Brady is taking it on himself to help out before the New England Patriots home opener Sunday against San Diego. Across the country, fans have been shot, beaten into a coma, Tasered. So Brady came back with this advice for fans: "Start drinking early . . . Get rowdy . . . a lot of time to get lubed up and cheer for the home team.’’

Eagles’ Graham says he’ll be back in time to face Cowboys | Philadelphia Inquirer | 09/14/2011
Eagles fans aren't the only ones that have an Oct. 30 date vs. the Cowboys circled on their calendars. Brandon Graham, who is on the physically unable to perform list, said Wednesday that he expects to play against Dallas. That's when the second-year defensive end would first be eligible to come off of the PUP list.

Can anyone explain to me how mcnabb was undervalued?
He was given multiple multi-million dollar contracts. At one time he was 3rd highest paid player. He was often considered a top 5 qb in the league.. Is this another “poor donovan” story? He was done in 2009 and that’s why the Eagles traded him to a division rival

I’m up at 5 45 am which is when I start my hustle.
Why do people not people see what I see? Blind homerism? It’s like the Gmen fans who think Eli i a top 5 qb

Ugh…As if I LB core didn’t get gashed and criticized as it is…

Rolle played REALLY well in his limited time in the nickel
Fokou got excited and went a little Ernie Sims on the Rams…just going full speed into the wrong spot…
I’m not down on this move. I think that little ball of hate will be fine on the weak side. He’s too short to play SAM, b/c I wouldn’t have him covering tight ends, but again, weak side…sure, give him a shot

I guess…but week 2? I don’t understand why the LB corp couldn’t be settled in TC. I mean I understand the lockout caused isssues, but stll.

why couldnt the lb core be settled in tc
Because certain players, especially rookies/young players, improve faster than others and at different times. I think we are all getting Hung up on names and draft positions way to much. If you can play, you can play. Look at kelce and mathis. Devan was Meh to unimpressive but knows the scheme. Also I think its worth noting that rolle took SOME of the first team reps. Keyword some. If he is the 4th lb, especially with Jordan nicked up, it only makes sense he get first team practice reps. Also remember rolle proclaimed he was just as good as von miller, just shorter….theres chance he may be right….even if it is a .00000000001% chance.

So what you're saying is you have a better chance of winning the lottery than Brian Rolle being better than Von Miller?
Rolle is not as good as Miller. And you will not win the lottery!
Well that is true, but my main point is that rolle doesn’t have to be as good as miller to be a good player.

graham must be the only one excited to come back...
in game 1, babin made two sacks, tapp and cole got one, and parker scored a touchdown… graham is a severe afterthought at de at this point imo… unless they have plans for him at dt.

He's too small for DT
but he’s perfect as a DE in the wide nine. Don’t expect much from him this year but from next year on he could be special. With this system you need at least 4 good DEs given all of the rotation, and with Parker unlikely to be here next season, there’s plenty of room for him.
I agree
the wide nine will play to Graham’s strengths really well. With that said, it requires SO much quickness that he’ll struggle if he’s not 100%. Might not be room for him this year…but I fully expect him to take Parker’s spot next year

I don't think so
the position is deep, and he’d have to come at the expense of someone.
If the coaches felt that he was really 100%, you could make the case to activate him and cut/trade Parker since you’re essentially going to do that in the offseason anyway.
But if he’s not truly 100%, you’d have to ask if an old Parker is more effective than a still-injured Graham. If you want to keep both, you’d have what, 6 DEs? and then who are you cutting from which other position?

Hugh Douglas ranks Atlanta ahead of us in the power rankings on 1st Take. Something that is getting annoying is how everyone is using the Steven Jackson excuse for the Rams, he’s not worth 18pts
let 'em hate
if Jackson is the reason we beat the Rams
what’s the reason the Falcons got their asses kicked? Soldier field?

A lot of mean fans, who are Philly fans
The article written about NY game and the fan issues….
Reminds me of every Eagles home game I go to versus the G-ants…..
I’m in Philly cheering positively for the Eagles and Ant fans get in my face about SB rings and once I was blindside tossed to the ground while dancing in celebration…
In SanFran they shoot you, in NY they’ll tazer…
But ‘Philly fans are the worst’? That’s a comment made by the unexperienced.
