So I'm a Fan of the Eagles on FB.. Right bold news I get it hold your breath there is more.. The team released it's first depth chart! OMG What could this possibly reveal in terms of the foundation for our roster and the Armageddon that is bound to ensue from our imminent super bowl run?!? None! But I'm going to examine it anyway and make dashingly great calls on things that make me a)happy or b)sad.
The first thing I noticed is that WRs are placed however the hell they want to be. Maclin and Jackson haven't seen a snap all training camp and the Eagles do the obvious thing and PENcil them in as starters. Duh. Next thing to strike me is that Gerald Jones is listed before Moss or Higgins which to me is interesting but could very well be pointless. Chad Hall is way down the list which brings me more joy than I can put in words. I like to root for the underdog too.. but the 15th Rocky was enough for me let's stop giving this guy the ball thinking he is going to do ANYTHING with it.
Clay Harbor is listed as your 2nd TE which makes sense. From what I hear out of camp he is lighting it up. Dion Lewis and Cooper are listed before Buckley at RB. I like that move if it happens. We know Buckley is a good ST player who can't really do any damage with the ball in his hands. Let's see what the young guys have.
On defense Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins are listed as backups I am assuming because they just started practicing like 4 days ago so I have to believe that will change.. nevermind it will change. Matthews looks like it is his job to lose right now at MLB and I kind of hope he doesn't lose it. I like what I have seen/heard about him so far. Greg Llyod is our backup MLB??? Anybody hear anything about him so far in camp I haven't. The way the CBs are listed is pretty crazy to me. According to this Asante and Nnamdi are starting.. DUH but then it has Hanson as your 3rd string LCB when we can safely assume the guy is either playing the slot or getting cut. Seems off to me. I love how the safeties are set right now... Start the two guys that played well for you down the stretch last year.. have Jarrett come in slowly and Page over Jackson to me is a smart move considering how bad Jackson has looked in camp so far. Coleman is your token STer in the background.
Not really anything important on this one guys just wanted to throw this out there because everyone was making their roster picks and this is just one more thing to add fuel to the fire. On a massive side note the pronunciation key on the bottom of the page is absolutely hilarious. Seriously have a few beers and then take a gander it is worth the look. So what do you guys think about the depth chart close to what the team will roll with week 1 or is Andy on his super secret ninja shit once more and attempting to blow massive amounts of smoke up our asses?
